Oh, so beautiful! - the exclamation of a guest made everyone on the deck "oh" in agreement: Going to Phu Quy this season is really beautiful. Because before the eyes is the immense scene in the middle of the ocean, the first rays of the morning sun shine brightly, casting golden light on the calm blue sea, creating a sparkling white light straight to the horizon... Just like that, everyone took the opportunity to check-in a few photos and then "let go" their mood with the fluttering wind mixed with the excitement of setting foot on the outpost island 56 nautical miles (about 120 km) southeast of Phan Thiet City.

The cruise ended after just over 2 hours. The island welcomed us with a bustling atmosphere as soon as the speedboat docked at Phu Quy Port. Very quickly, a series of cars participating in the transportation service on the island district were ready to take passengers, most of whom were tourists from other provinces, to accommodation facilities. Among them, many young people chose to rent CUXI brand motorbikes with cute appearances, painted in many eye-catching colors as personal vehicles to flexibly travel around the island and... live virtual. Mr. Thanh - a local driver said: Phu Quy is in the most beautiful sea season of the year, so it attracts many visitors to the island to visit and experience. Therefore, all 4 29-seat cars currently on the island have been mobilized to serve tourists traveling in groups, and during this season, only 4-7 seat cars are used to meet the needs of visitors.

Entering the beautiful beach season coincides with the time when the "pearl island" of Binh Thuan is preparing for the April 30 - May 1 holiday, followed by the 2025 summer tourist season with increasing attraction for tourists everywhere. Therefore, Phu Quy tourism is forecast to continue to be bustling, especially from now until the end of the third quarter of this year thanks to the sunny weather, calm seas, making it easier to travel from the mainland to the island. It is known that the entire island district currently has 68 hotels and motels (totaling 1,239 beds) and nearly 100 homestays (about 1,500 beds), but there may still be a situation of "full rooms" during the upcoming holiday peak. Mr. Do Phuong Nam - the owner of a hotel in Tam Thanh commune informed that all 16 rooms here were booked a month before the holiday, currently only accepting guests to book rooms to stay during the summer...

Thanks to the increase in the number of visitors during the beautiful sea season, it is also an opportunity for restaurants, eateries, and entertainment services on remote islands to take advantage of developing their business activities before the cold season (usually from November to April of the following year). Talking to us, Mr. Bui Van Phanh, who runs a food and beverage service on a raft in Phu Quy, was very excited because in recent days there has always been a stable number of visitors. This is also the time when tourists coming to the island can enjoy a variety of fresh seafood specialties such as: baby lobsters, shrimp (mantis shrimp), king crabs, sea urchins (also known as sea urchins), groupers, shellfish of all kinds... caught naturally in the waters of Phu Quy. In addition, SUP and coral diving services in the Bai Can area of Long Hai commune - a new tourism product of the island district - also have the opportunity to "do well" because they attract young visitors to experience. According to Mr. Vo Van Minh - a tourist support staff on the raft, this service has just been put into operation since mid-April and will be busy during the beautiful sea season that lasts until September. Especially on weekends, each raft must increase the number of support staff to be able to guide and meet the entertainment and sports needs of dozens of guests at the same time from morning to afternoon.

Having been to the island for work many times, we feel that this place becomes more bustling when the beautiful sea season begins with the increased frequency of high-speed passenger boats on the Phan Thiet - Phu Quy route. The roads around the island are also crowded with vehicles, from restaurants to roadside eateries are crowded, especially at tourist attractions such as Phu Quy Flagpole, Doc Phuot, Ganh Hang, Cao Cat Mountain... And it seems that Phu Quy also stays up late during the beautiful sea season when food and entertainment services last until midnight, then wakes up earlier because many tourists "have an appointment with dawn" to welcome a new day on the island.
It can be said that entering the second quarter of this year, the island district, the "head of the waves and the wind", has changed dramatically in the beautiful sea season. According to local authorities, in the first quarter of 2020, Phu Quy welcomed about 24,025 visitors, but by April 2025, it is estimated that more than 17,000 visitors came to the island for tourism. Similar to seafood exploitation activities, due to the unfavorable weather in the first months of the year for offshore fishing, the exploitation output decreased compared to the same period last year. However, in April, the weather became more favorable, helping boats go offshore to exploit seafood to serve the consumption needs on the island. Statistics from the People's Committee of Phu Quy district show that in the first 4 months of the year, the whole district is estimated to exploit about 5,858 tons, of which this April alone reached nearly 3,020 tons (including fresh fish of all kinds, fresh squid and other seafood)...
In addition to services for tourists, Phu Quy entering the beautiful sea season also brings opportunities for lottery ticket sellers on the island like Ms. Mot - living in Tam Thanh commune. She confided: Because they do not return the tickets to the agents at the end of the day, each "station" only receives 150 tickets and has to sell them from the night before, mainly at pubs and restaurants to sell all the tickets. However, this season, there are many tourists coming to the island, many people have bought 5-7 tickets or the whole pair (more than 10 tickets), which also helps her feet feel less tired on the way to make a living... Meanwhile, the Phu Quy District Tourism Association with young, enthusiastic members who are business owners of accommodation, restaurants, travel, and entertainment services on the island is also considering taking advantage of the opportunity. Because through promoting communication and promotion, the "pearl island" of Binh Thuan has become known to many people and they are eager to pack their bags and go to Phu Quy to experience it right in this year's beautiful sea season. Therefore, those who participate in tourism and service business here are not only determined to contribute to maintaining the impressive image of the island district, but also join hands to develop Phu Quy destination in a green and sustainable direction.
