VietinBank Deputy General Director receives 'IT Leader of the Year' Award

On April 16, 2025, at the "World Financial Innovation Chain - Vietnam 2025" (WFIS 2025) Program; Mr. Tran Cong Quynh Lan - Deputy General Director cum Director of Information Technology, Director of Data & Artificial Intelligence of VietinBank was honored with the "IT Maestro of the year" Award.

The “IT Maestro of the year” award not only honors the personal achievements of VietinBank Deputy General Director Tran Cong Quynh Lan; but also demonstrates VietinBank's vision and capacity in applying advanced technology to become the leading efficient bank in Vietnam.

WFIS 2025 is designed as a special program, an opportunity for leaders, experts, technology and business directors from leading banking organizations, fintech, insurance and financial companies in the region to share and update information related to the Finance - Banking industry. In addition, the event also becomes a forum to connect technology developers, experts, investors and global business partners... At the same time, sharing experiences and knowledge of experts on data security, cloud computing, artificial intelligence and finance - banking operations in general to contribute to the promotion of financial inclusion and sustainable development in Vietnam.

Sharing at WFIS 2025, Mr. Tran Cong Quynh Lan - Deputy General Director cum Director of Information Technology, Director of Data & Artificial Intelligence of VietinBank said: The digital transformation journey at VietinBank has been taking place very early and has been under the consistent direction of the Board of Directors and the Board of Management. We are constantly investing, innovating and comprehensively digitizing products and services to optimally meet the needs of customers.

In line with the objectives of the Banking Industry Digital Transformation Plan, VietinBank has implemented the Digital Transformation program for the period 2024 - 2028 called "Project X01" including 108 initiatives linked to the medium-term and long-term business strategy with the expectation of creating outstanding competitiveness for the Bank and bringing optimal experiences to customers and officers and employees of VietinBank.

2024 is a memorable milestone, marking important steps in VietinBank's digital transformation journey when completing the important "run-up" phase with 45 initiatives prioritized for implementation. Digital transformation initiatives not only bring high efficiency in business operations; but also contribute to improving customer experience and data capacity. Thereby, affirming VietinBank's pioneering position in the banking industry.

In June 2024, the birth of the digital factory became an important highlight in VietinBank's digital transformation journey, contributing to redefining banking services in the digital age in Vietnam.

Most recently, on March 5, 2025, VietinBank continued to mark an important milestone in its digital transformation journey with the establishment of the Data & Artificial Intelligence Division. This is not only a strategic step to enhance competitiveness; but also demonstrates VietinBank's vision in applying advanced technology to become the leading efficient bank in Vietnam. The Data & AI Division was established with the mission of pioneering in exploiting the power of data and AI technology, aiming at 4 key goals: Promoting business activities; Increasing operational efficiency; Improving customer experience and spreading data culture.

Outstanding individuals and groups were honored in 8 categories at WFIS 2025.

At the award ceremony, VietinBank Deputy General Director Tran Cong Quynh Lan expressed his honor to receive the “IT Maestro of the year” award. “I would like to express my special thanks to the Board of Directors and the Board of Management of VietinBank for building a comprehensive digital transformation strategy and vision across all business and management activities of the bank. In addition, I would not have received this award without the enthusiastic support of my colleagues,” Mr. Tran Cong Quynh Lan emphasized.

The “IT Maestro of the year” award has once again affirmed VietinBank’s pioneering position in the digital banking sector; at the same time, it has laid a solid foundation for a smart, efficient future and the philosophy of “Customer-centricity” in all activities. With the solid foundations built and developed, VietinBank will constantly innovate to bring outstanding value to customers, shareholders and the community, aiming to realize the vision of becoming a leading, modern, multi-functional bank in Vietnam.

WFIS 2025 is organized by the Vietnam Banks Association (VNBA) in collaboration with TradePass Company for 2 days, April 15-16, 2025. WFIS 2025 is organized with the goal of promoting digital transformation in the Finance - Banking industry; at the same time, encouraging organizations to cooperate to create a sustainable fintech ecosystem in Vietnam. This is the 3rd time the event has been held in Vietnam and attracted the participation of many technology and business directors from organizations such as: leading banks, insurance and microfinance across the country.
