At a meeting on peak service for the April 30-May 1 holiday at Tan Son Nhat Airport (HCMC), Deputy Director of the Civil Aviation Authority Ho Minh Tan directed airlines to proactively review plans, control measures, and comply with confirmed slots to minimize changes in flight schedules and flight delays and cancellations.

In case of changes in flight times, airlines promptly update the airport's plans to coordinate flight service and notify passengers early when flight times change to avoid causing frustration for passengers when arriving at the airport.

At the same time, fully comply with the provisions of law and transportation regulations related to the obligations of the carrier in case of delays and cancellations, as well as receive and handle feedback from passengers and people about the carrier's transportation activities quickly, promptly and receptively.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam also requested agencies and units to maintain and strictly implement enhanced aviation security control measures during the Victory Day holiday of April 30 and International Labor Day of May 1 until May 4, 2025.

The Civil Aviation Authority noted that Vietnam Airlines needs to provide information and instructions to passengers when purchasing tickets and checking in for flights departing/arriving at Tan Son Nhat Terminal 3. In addition, it is necessary to arrange personnel to guide and assist passengers with check-in procedures and connecting passengers during peak hours to quickly clear passengers and limit congestion at the check-in area and the boarding gate.

For Vietjet, the management agency requested the airline to review the overall capacity of all stages in the ground self-service chain to identify the causes and take overall remedial measures, in order to minimize the number of delayed and canceled flights.

In addition, it is necessary to arrange human resources and ground service vehicles to wait at the aircraft parking position to be ready to serve as soon as the aircraft enters the parking position; provide accurate and timely information to passengers; proactively work with relevant units to arrange fueling locations for ground vehicles.

According to the Civil Aviation Authority, on the occasion of April 30, Tan Son Nhat airport has an average of 750 flights arriving and departing per day, an increase of about 10% compared to the flight schedule before the holiday.

Only counting the Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City route, there are 1,261 flights planned, up 16% compared to the same period last year. The number of seats provided on this route reaches 305,000, up 11% compared to the same period last year.
