Health food containing banned substances

Today, April 29, the Food Safety Department (Ministry of Health) announced that it had received a report from the National Institute for Food Safety and Hygiene Control on the results of testing monitoring samples, detecting that two health protection food products, Dang Xuan Phuc Linh Gold and Best Slim Collagen, contained the banned substance sibutramine.

Regarding the management of food product quality, the Food Safety Department recommends that the health departments and food safety sub-departments of provinces and cities strengthen inspection and post-inspection to detect fake food, food that violates quality, and advertising violations; at the same time, strengthen the management of self-declared products; and strengthen the implementation of post-inspection.

Health protection food products must be granted a certificate of registration of product declaration by the Food Safety Department before being circulated on the market.
