The information was given by Chairman of Nam Dinh Provincial People's Committee Pham Dinh Nghi at the working conference with the delegation of Oudomxay province (Laos) led by Comrade Bounkhong Lachiemphone, Alternate Member of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Governor of Oudomxay province, on March 18.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Pham Dinh Nghi emphasized that in recent times, the two provinces have actively implemented cooperation activities based on the contents signed in the Memorandum of Understanding on Friendship and Cooperation between Nam Dinh Province (Vietnam) and Oudomxay Province (Laos).

During the 2022-2024 period, Nam Dinh province supported full scholarships to train 13 students from Oudomxay province, including 12 students studying at Nam Dinh University of Nursing and 1 student studying at the University of Economics, Technology and Industry.
Regarding investment, trade and agricultural cooperation, the two provinces have also actively exchanged information on the investment environment, potential and strengths of each province. Oudomxay province has created favorable conditions for enterprises of Nam Dinh province to operate in production and business. The agricultural sector of Nam Dinh province has also focused on sharing and exchanging experiences in building new rural areas with Oudomxay province.

Mr. Pham Dinh Nghi hopes that in the coming time, the two provinces will continue to promote the traditional relationship, solidarity and effective cooperation. In addition to supporting full training costs according to the signed memorandum of understanding, Nam Dinh province will support additional funding for Vietnamese language learning for Oudomxay students selected to study in Nam Dinh province. He suggested that Oudomxay province actively inform, promote and encourage students of the province to prepare the necessary conditions to register for university entrance exams in Nam Dinh province.
Secretary of the Province, Governor of Oudomxay Province Bounkhong Lachiemphone affirmed that Nam Dinh Province has always paid attention to helping Oudomxay Province, especially in the field of education and supporting human resource training. He hoped that the solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two provinces would continue to be strengthened and tightened in the coming time, especially in the field of agriculture.

Also at the conference, Mr. Bounkhong Lachiemphone awarded the Second Class Freedom Medal to a former leader of Nam Dinh province and the Third Class Freedom Medal to 7 leaders of Nam Dinh province through the periods; and awarded the Medal to the Department of Education and Training of Nam Dinh province.

According to Nam Dinh Provincial Party Secretary Pham Gia Tuc, the awards are a recognition of the effective cooperation and mutual support in the construction and development of the two countries and the two provinces of Nam Dinh and Oudomxay. This is also a great source of motivation for the Party Committee, government and people of Nam Dinh province to continue to foster solidarity, loyal friendship and close ties between the two countries and the two localities.

On March 17, Friendship School 80 (Son Tay town, Hanoi) coordinated with the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association of Son Tay town to organize the 8th ceremony to welcome sponsor families for Lao students. There were 13 local families and 91 Lao students participating in the program. |
