According to the announcement of the National Economics University, the Journal of Economics and Development (JED) has been added to the prestigious scientific database Scopus (Scopus is a database of the Elsevier Publishing House - Netherlands). This is the second journal of universities in Vietnam to successfully join the Scopus list. More than 1 year ago, the journal of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics successfully joined the Scopus system.

Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Van Phuc highly appreciated the efforts and outstanding development of JED magazine in its strategy to reach international level. With the accession to the Scopus list, scientists in the field of economics in Vietnam can now participate in international publications in JED Magazine. This also contributes to enhancing the presence and spreading of Vietnamese science in the international scientific community.

"The success of JED magazine is a model for Vietnamese scientific journals to learn from in the process of international integration," said Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Phuc, suggesting that JED magazine should share its experiences in the upgrading process with domestic scientific journals so that Vietnam can have more journals that meet international standards.

The Deputy Minister also suggested that JED Magazine and the National Economics University continue to promote their strengths and implement creative and innovative solutions to maintain the sustainable development of JED in the Scopus list.

He requested that JED Magazine should focus on key research areas with high impact such as sustainable development issues in the new context to contribute more to national, regional and global science.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Pham Hong Chuong, President of the National Economics University, said that adding the Economic and Development Journal to the Scopus list is an important content, set out in the school's development strategy for the period 2021 - 2030.

After many efforts, on December 10, 2023, JED journal was officially listed in the Scopus index. This is a big step forward in the more than 30 years of establishment and development of the journal, an important contribution to the 68-year history of establishment and development of the school.

"JED Journal joining Scopus proves the scientific research capacity not only of scientists in the school but also of Vietnamese scientists," Mr. Chuong emphasized.

JED of the National Economics University is a scientific journal in the field of economics and development, including an English version published 4 issues/year on the Emerald Publishing House system and a Vietnamese version published 12 issues/year.

Since its official presence on the Emerald Publishing System database in May 2019, JED has published 15 issues with 104 research articles by authors from 45 countries around the world, of which foreign authors account for more than 70%.

JED has an annual acceptance rate of approximately 10%, demonstrating high selectivity in scientific quality at each stage of review.
