The accident caused 3 female students to be hospitalized at Vinh General Hospital. The most seriously injured case was transferred to Nghe An General Hospital.

The other two female students both suffered head injuries and were treated at Vinh General Hospital. By noon on April 14, both had gradually recovered mentally after the accident.

After the wound was stitched, NNHT was taken care of by his family and school representatives at the hospital. Lying on the hospital bed, tears continued to flow.

According to HT, at that time he was playing with a group of girls on the playground when suddenly something "fell down" and hit him. He turned around and saw an injured friend "lying on his back, not moving at all", so he panicked and ran to find someone to save his friend. He did not have time to realize that the falling object was a railing on the upper floor, he only had time to see that it was a few hard stainless steel bars. Now, every time he remembers the accident and the image of his seriously injured friend, HT bursts into tears.

A teacher present at the hospital said that it was a break between classes. The teachers were in the office when they saw HT running up to call for help with a head injury and a lot of blood. The teachers quickly helped the child to the school infirmary to give first aid, and at the same time urgently took the injured students to the hospital. The unexpected accident made the whole school worried and focused on first aid for the students.

Witnesses at the scene said that before the accident happened, several students were playing in the hallway and had an impact on the railing. One student was about to fall towards the falling railing but was luckily pulled back by a friend.

Speaking to reporters from Vietnam Law Newspaper at the scene of the accident, a representative of Vinh University said that the school is currently coordinating with authorities to block off the area where the incident occurred, investigate the cause, and inspect the entire railing system and school corridors.

According to the reporter of Vietnam Law Newspaper, the building where the accident happened is 5 stories high, with cameras installed in all the corridors. The railing on the 4th floor that fell down still left a gap.

The incident caused confusion among parents and students in the school about the quality of facilities and school safety.
