According to history, on April 1, 1975, Ninh Hoa was liberated. From April 1 to 2, 1975, the countryside and the towns of Van Gia and Van Ninh were liberated. The enemy in Nha Trang fled in panic. At 5:00 p.m. on April 2, 1975, the 10th Division, together with local troops and people, entered to liberate Nha Trang town, followed by Vinh Xuong and Dien Khanh. On April 3, Cam Ranh town and the Cam Ranh military complex were liberated, and 58,000 enemy troops in Khanh Hoa were completely disintegrated. The puppet government of the Republic of Vietnam collapsed. After being liberated, Khanh Hoa became an important springboard for the historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign to advance straight to the South. At the same time, the army and people of Khanh Hoa contributed with the forces of Military Region 5 and the navy to liberate the islands: Song Tu Tay, Son Ca, Nam Yet, Sinh Ton... On April 29, 1975, the entire Truong Sa archipelago was liberated. On April 30, 1975, the South was completely liberated, reunifying the country.

Over the past 50 years, the Party Committee, government and people of Cam Ranh City have always promoted the heroic, united, dynamic and creative traditions, overcoming all difficulties and challenges, exploiting economic potential and advantages for rapid and sustainable development. Up to now, the production value of economic sectors (according to 2010 comparative prices) has increased by an average of 20.8% annually; the production value of industry and construction has increased by an average of 29.1% annually; the value of trade and services has increased by an average of 14.7%. The total social investment capital in the 2020 - 2025 period increased by 156.1% compared to the 2015 - 2020 period, estimated at 56,350 billion VND; The average increase in the number of employed workers in the period 2020 - 2025 is estimated at 9,362 people.
