Criminal chase on livestream

In the film, Kang Ha-neul will transform into Woo-sang, a famous streamer who specializes in analyzing mysterious cases. However, after being caught up in a murder case that shook the whole country, Woo-sang discovered that the facts he was analyzing on his personal page were closely related to a serial killer. With the thought of challenging himself and attracting new fans, the "streaming king" decided to live stream the entire journey of solving the case to find the identity of the culprit. However, what Woo-sang could not have expected was that the culprit was also secretly... watching his every move right on his live session.

Throughout the film, viewers are drawn into a series of unsolved events, from scattered clues, the killer's provocations to dramatic chases. Woo Sang suddenly realizes that the madman he is pursuing is very close to him. The climax is pushed to the maximum when another famous streamer, Matilda, is suddenly kidnapped right on live broadcast.

Critics have also compared “Predator Live” to the Hollywood blockbuster “Nightcrawler” (2014), as both explore the dark side of media and public opinion. Regardless of their lives or morals, streamers gradually devote themselves to evil in order to achieve flashy fame.

Not only a thriller-detective film, “Prey Live Session” is also a warning in the era of rapid digital development. When the broadcaster disregards the “view-baiting”, the audience seems to gradually forget the multi-dimensional perspective of the incident. The work also raises the question: “Does the audience really care about the truth or just want to be entertained by sensational fabricated stories?”.

Kang Ha-neul's boldest role

After his explosive performance as the silly husband in “Love Your Cool Wife Again” (2024), the audience seemed to have fixed Kang Ha-neul’s charming and humorous acting in most of his roles. However, Kang Ha-neul shocked everyone when he decided to step out of his comfort zone to challenge himself in a series of tense, psychologically complex action scenes. When transforming into a streamer with an impulsive, fake, somewhat “crazy” personality and willing to do anything to become famous on social networks, he seemed to create for himself an irresistible “backdrop” style with a handsome and attractive appearance.

This has brought a series of compliments from the audience and the press, who said that his excellent performance in "Predator Live" has elevated the experience of the film to the maximum, every moment of following Kang Ha-neul's character is very engaging and creative.

The movie "Prey Live Session" will be shown in Vietnamese theaters from April 11, 2025.
