Hanoi tourists sit together in the middle of terraced fields in Sapa, sipping coffee

(Dan Tri) - Instead of having to drive dozens of kilometers to see the terraced fields in the ripe rice season, Mr. Duong Quoc Hieu wants to create a peaceful, intimate space for tourists to experience Sapa more conveniently.
Unlike other areas in the Northwest, Sapa only has one rice crop per year. Mid-August to late September is considered the ideal time to hunt for ripe rice. Instead of having to travel dozens of kilometers to hunt for beautiful photos, Mr. Duong Quoc Hieu started a coffee shop to serve the needs of tourists to sightsee and take photos. It is a coffee shop located in the middle of terraced fields in Pho village, Muong Hoa commune, Sapa town, Lao Cai province. Renting a house from a local H'Mong, Mr. Hieu built some bamboo and wooden huts for guests to sit near the fields and enjoy the scenery.

The idea of a rice field cafe was nurtured by Mr. Hieu since the Covid-19 pandemic but was only recently realized. During the process of creating the cafe, he discussed and calculated very carefully to minimize construction. The cafe does not use reinforced concrete, only environmentally friendly bamboo and wood materials so as not to affect the surrounding ecosystem. Taking advantage of the weekend, Ms. Thach Thao (23 years old, from Hanoi) traveled to Sapa with a group of friends. She said that she loves the golden rice season in Sapa, so this is a place to satisfy her hobby of taking virtual photos and to immerse herself in the vast natural space. Also from Hanoi, Ms. My Duyen said that she really likes coffee shops with spaces that blend with nature. The first time she came to the shop, she felt like she was being healed while sitting and talking with friends in a peaceful space. The restaurant is located on a total area of about 2,000m2, enjoying the cool and pleasant atmosphere of Sapa so there is no need for air conditioning. The number of customers coming to the restaurant is quite large on weekends, from 200 to 300 guests. The restaurant can accommodate up to 200 guests at the same time. If traveling from the center of Sapa town, visitors go straight to Ta Van village with wide roads. Visitors traveling in groups using cars still have comfortable parking space. The shop serves familiar drinks such as smoothies and fruit juices with prices ranging from 40,000 VND to 60,000 VND. In addition to taking photos and sightseeing, visitors can experience the clothing rental service at the H'Mong family next door for 50,000 VND/time. In case you want to have lunch with the locals, you can make a reservation in advance.
