According to Giao thong Newspaper reporters, on the first day of commercial operation of the Nhon - Hanoi station metro line, a few hours before the time to welcome passengers, there were already many people eagerly waiting below the stations.

The two terminal stations, Nhon and Cau Giay, have the highest number of passengers. At the other six stations along the route, the number of passengers waiting for the train is lower.

At 8am, at Nhon station, a large number of people lined up in two lines to receive train tickets. The operation was carried out skillfully by station staff, train drivers, security staff, etc. From ticket sales to boarding and disembarking, everything was automated. Inside the train cars were always packed with people. Many passengers had to stand, but all seemed extremely excited.

Mr. Nguyen Van Tuong (92 years old, residing in Kim Ma, Ba Dinh) and his son Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong (60 years old) chose the Nhon - Hanoi railway station elevated train as a means of transportation to visit relatives near Minh Khai station. "After many years of living and working abroad, I am no stranger to the train. But this time, I still have a special feeling," Mr. Tuong said.

In addition to the large number of people coming to experience it, many passengers expressed that they would choose the train for their daily commute. Mr. Vu Cong Thanh (63 years old, residing in Hoai Duc district) shared: "The distance from Nhon to Cau Giay is 8.5km but it only takes about 13 minutes. I will probably visit my children and grandchildren living in Cau Giay every day."

Mr. Nguyen Huu Quan, an officer working on Vo Chi Cong Street (Tay Ho) expressed: "My office will soon move to Phung Hung Street, Ha Dong, my house is close to Hanoi University of Industry, so I plan to go to work by 2 train lines connecting with the bus."

Similarly, Ms. Le Thi Thu Ha (Pham Hung, Nam Tu Liem) shared: "I find it very suitable for my commute to work. Traveling by train not only saves a lot of time but also saves travel costs and is very safe."

Convenient bus connection

The Hanoi Urban Railway Project Management Board (MRB) said that the elevated section of this urban railway is managed and operated by Hanoi Railway One Member Co., Ltd. In the first 3 months, the line will open at 5:30 a.m. and close at 10 p.m. every day; the train will run every 10 minutes.

The price of a one-way ticket (trip ticket) to one station is 8,000 VND, and for the whole route is 12,000 VND. A daily ticket is 24,000 VND, valid for one day and has no limit on the number of trips. A regular monthly ticket costs 200,000 VND. The priority ticket for students is 100,000 VND/month. A group ticket is 140,000 VND/month.

Children under 6 years old, meritorious people, people over 60 years old, and people with disabilities are free. In particular, during the first 15 days of commercial operation, all passengers will be served free of charge.

Regarding static traffic connection and traffic organization, Hanoi Department of Transport has coordinated with People's Committees of districts along the route to review, arrange points, parking lots, and organize traffic on the route and station areas.

According to the reporter's records, the system of bus routes and bus stops are conveniently connected to stations along the Nhon - Hanoi station metro line.

There are 36 bus routes operating along the route. Of these, there are 33 subsidized routes including: Routes 05, 07, 09A, 09B, 13, 16, 20A, 20B, 24, 26, 27, 28, 29, 32, 34, 38, 39, 49, 51, 55A, 55B, 57, 90, 92, 105, 117, 146, 161, 162, 163, E05, 56A, 96 and 3 non-subsidized routes: Routes 70A, 70B, 70C.

In addition, along the route there are also 2 passenger transfer points, Cau Giay and Nhon; there are 32 bus stops (16 stops on Cau Giay - Nhon route; 16 stops on Nhon - Cau Giay route).

At 8 stations of the Nhon - Hanoi metro line, the nearest bus stop is connected with a distance of 0-50m, quite convenient for people.

According to Mr. Thai Ho Phuong, Director of Hanoi Traffic Management and Operation Center, Cat Linh - Ha Dong and Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station routes are connected by 9 bus routes including: Routes 29, 49, 57, 05, 27, 38, 90, 105, 09B.

The Hanoi Urban Railway Project Management Board (MRB) said that the elevated section of this urban railway line has 8 stations including: Nhon, Minh Khai, Phu Dien, Cau Dien, Le Duc Tho, National University, Chua Ha, Cau Giay. Hanoi Railway One Member Co., Ltd. is assigned to manage and operate.

During the first 3 months of operation, the route will open at 5:30 a.m. and close at 10 p.m. every day; train runs will be 10 minutes apart.
