Attending the meeting were comrades: Nguyen Hoai Anh - Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Thi Thuan Bich - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; representatives of leaders of departments, branches and sectors; leaders of the Provincial Military Command, Provincial Police and 250 delegates who are outstanding war veterans, former Youth Volunteers, former police officers, former political prisoners who directly participated in the resistance war against the US to save the country in the province.

Reviewing the heroic history of 50 years ago, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Hoai Anh emphasized that during the long-term resistance war against the US, Binh Thuan was a province far from the support of the Central Government, facing countless difficulties, hardships and sacrifices. However, with a passionate love for the country, with the determination to liberate the nation, liberate the homeland, and unify the country, under the talented leadership of the Party, the armed forces of the province overcame countless difficulties, gradually matured, and together with the people, made many glorious achievements. Among them, there was the victory of Hoai Duc - Bac Ruong (July 1960) that resounded throughout the South, 8 attacks on the Mao River base of the US - puppet, 3 attacks on the Mau Than Tet Offensive in 1968, the Hoai Duc - Tanh Linh liberation campaign in December 1974, becoming one of the first localities to be liberated in the South. From then on, on these days 50 years ago, with the revolutionary storm, the army and people of the province together with the main force liberated the homeland of Binh Thuan, together with the whole country to create the great victory in the historic spring of 1975. With the achievements, on December 20, 1979, Binh Thuan province was honored to be awarded the title "Hero of the People's Armed Forces" by the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Contributing to those glorious feats were the blood sacrifices and great contributions of cadres, soldiers of the army, police, youth volunteer forces, former political prisoners and other forces.

Together with the whole country, 50 years after liberation and 33 years of re-establishment of the province, the Party Committee, government, army and people of Binh Thuan have made constant efforts and achieved many great and comprehensive achievements in all fields: The economy has grown quite well, people's lives have been increasingly improved, national defense and security have been maintained, and the political system has been firmly consolidated. These results have had very positive contributions from war veterans, former youth volunteers, former police officers, and former political prisoners. The Party Committee, government, army and people of the province always respectfully acknowledge and are grateful for the sacrifices and contributions of war veterans, retired police officers, former youth volunteers, former political prisoners and comrades and patriots, who have contributed to writing the heroic history of the Vietnamese nation and of the heroic homeland of Binh Thuan.

The Provincial Party Secretary affirmed that the Party Committees and authorities at all levels always respect, listen, acknowledge and will continue to care for the material and spiritual lives of war veterans, former Youth Volunteers, former police officers and former political prisoners. At the same time, he hoped that with their political courage, experience and prestige, war veterans, former Youth Volunteers, former police officers and former political prisoners will continue to be shining examples, those who spread the revolutionary fire, foster patriotism and the will to rise up for today's young generation. In addition, they are the ones who connect and lead patriotic emulation movements, develop the economy, build new rural areas and civilized urban areas; inspire and educate the ideals of the young generation so that the young generation can better understand, love and be proud of the glorious history of the nation and homeland.

On behalf of the war veterans, former Youth Volunteers, former police officers, and former political prisoners who participated in the resistance war against the US to save the country in the whole province, comrade Pham Van Long - Chairman of the Provincial War Veterans Association expressed that the veterans and former youth volunteers will continue to promote the nature and tradition of revolutionary soldiers, maintain the qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers"; well implement the Party's guidelines, policies and laws of the State. Together, we are determined to bring Binh Thuan to develop quickly and sustainably, together with the whole country, entering a new era - "the era of national growth".
