Attending the meeting were Standing Committee Member of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Inspection Committee of the Hanoi City Party Committee Hoang Trong Quyet.

At the meeting, veterans reviewed the traditions of the Vietnam Veterans Association and the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army.

Chairman of the Hanoi Veterans Association Le Nhu Duc emphasized that since the Party was founded, with a burning desire to regain independence, freedom and national unity; under the wise leadership of the Party, our people have waged long, arduous but extremely heroic and glorious resistance wars to save the country, gaining independence, freedom and national unity, and the whole country moving towards socialism. Generations of veterans in the capital are very respectful, grateful and proud of the revolutionary elders, generals, mid-level and high-ranking military officers who retired in the capital in the 80s of the last century.

Over 35 years of construction and development, with the spirit of overcoming difficulties, being proactive, proactive, overcoming all difficulties, hardships, solidarity, and efforts of generations of cadres and members of the Capital Veterans Association, the assigned political tasks have been successfully completed, many tasks have been excellently completed, making an important contribution to participating in building and protecting the Party, the government, and a strong political system, maintaining political stability, social order and safety, creating favorable conditions for Hanoi to develop its socio-economy, ensure national defense - security and foreign affairs.

The City Veterans Association is constantly growing, always a reliable support for the Party and authorities at all levels; a solid bridge, a blood relationship between the Party, the State and the People.

With outstanding achievements over the past 35 years, the Hanoi Veterans Association has been awarded many noble prizes by the Party, the State, ministries, branches, the Vietnam Veterans Association and Hanoi City.

On behalf of the cadres and members, Chairman of the City Veterans Association Le Nhu Duc promised to continue to promote the nature of Uncle Ho's soldiers, the tradition of "loyalty - solidarity - exemplary - innovation", build a truly strong and comprehensive Association, excellently complete all assigned tasks, and always be a reliable support for the Party Committees, authorities and people of the Capital.

Along with that, actively participate in building and protecting the Party, the government, the socialist regime, and protecting the People; Unite to help each other reduce poverty and get rich legally; Coordinate to participate in building the great national unity bloc and the Party's people's foreign affairs work, strive to be a typical unit in the whole country, contributing to building a strong political system, building a "civilized - cultured - modern" Capital.
