(HTV) - Ho Chi Minh City Police launched a special 50-day and night emulation campaign to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Southern Liberation Day and the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh, ensuring security and order in the country's important activities.

On the morning of April 1, Ho Chi Minh City Police Department held a launching ceremony for a special emulation campaign lasting 50 days and nights to celebrate two important events of the country: the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) and the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025). This is an important event to kick off a series of peak activities of Ho Chi Minh City Police Department towards the celebration of major national holidays in April and May 2025.

This special emulation campaign will take place from April 1 to May 20, 2025, under the direct direction of Lieutenant General Le Hong Nam - Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department. The emulation campaign not only aims to promote the spirit of emulation in the entire City Police force but also affirms the core role of the police in ensuring political security and social order and safety.

Attending the launching ceremony, in addition to Lieutenant General Le Hong Nam, there were also city leaders such as Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Duong Ngoc Hai; Member of the City Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City Nguyen Thanh Trung and many officers and soldiers from other forces.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Lieutenant General Le Hong Nam emphasized the political and historical importance of this special emulation campaign. He affirmed that this is an opportunity for the entire City Police force to demonstrate political determination and absolute loyalty to the Party, the Fatherland and the People. At the same time, the emulation campaign also creates an opportunity to promote the spirit of responsibility, initiative, creativity, and protection of security and order and society, especially for complex potential crimes.

Lieutenant General Le Hong Nam requested the units and localities of the City to synchronously deploy solutions, grasp the situation from the grassroots, promptly advise the Party Committee and the government to mobilize the combined strength of the entire political system. In particular, it is necessary to ensure absolute safety for key targets, projects, important events and festivals, and proactively prevent, detect and stop all types of crimes, especially drug crimes, black credit, "street" crimes, high-tech crimes and crimes with foreign elements.

Also on this occasion, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Duong Ngoc Hai acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of the City Police in preparing for this special emulation campaign. He affirmed that with close coordination between forces, Ho Chi Minh City will ensure absolute security and order during the celebration activities. He also requested departments, branches, sectors and authorities at all levels to coordinate well with the police force in propagating and mobilizing people to actively participate in crime prevention, building a civilized lifestyle and obeying the law.

At the same time, authorities are also required to proactively resolve conflicts and disputes at the grassroots level, not allowing the formation of complicated security and order hotspots, ensuring social security and environmental sanitation in areas where commemorative activities take place.

The Standing Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee believes that, with the determination and close coordination of the forces, the special 50-day and night emulation campaign will achieve high results, contributing to the successful organization of the country's important commemorative activities, while affirming the image of Ho Chi Minh City as a secure, safe, civilized and modern city, worthy of being an attractive destination for people and tourists both domestically and internationally.
