The State visit of President Luong Cuong to Laos is of great significance to the special relationship between Vietnam and Laos. This is the first State visit to Laos by President Luong Cuong and takes place at a special time. Lao friends have just celebrated Bunpimay 2025 (April 13-16) with many new wishes and aspirations. President Luong Cuong and the high-ranking delegation of our Party and State brought warm, sincere and close-knit feelings of comrades, teammates and brothers; along with that, our country is also jubilantly preparing for the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, and our Great Spring Victory in 1975 also created a favorable premise for the Lao army and people to advance to complete victory in 1975.

The visit is an opportunity for the leaders and people of the two countries to review the history of the special fighting alliance and solidarity between Vietnam and Laos, founded by President Ho Chi Minh, President Kaysone Phomvihane and President Suphanouvong and nurtured by generations of leaders of the two Parties, two States and peoples. Together, they cherish the historical value of the relationship between the two countries, and are even more proud of the achievements the two countries have made in the cause of national construction and development. A journey in which the two sides always stand side by side, ready to sacrifice for each other, imbued in their thoughts and actions that in Laos' journey there is always the shadow of Vietnam and in Vietnam's journey there is always the shadow of Laos.

Those priceless values of solidarity, attachment, loyalty, purity, and loyalty have been passed on to the younger generation, who carry within them the mission of continuing the fine traditions that their ancestors have worked hard to cultivate, to become worthy successors to the great solidarity between Vietnam and Laos, as President Kaysone Phomvihane said, "Mountains may wear away, rivers may dry up, but the Laos-Vietnam friendship will forever be stronger than mountains and rivers" and our beloved Uncle Ho concluded, "Vietnam and Laos, our two countries, have a love deeper than the Red River and the Mekong Delta."
