As part of the activities of the Vietnam Traditional Cake Festival – An Giang 2024, the An Giang Provincial Trade and Investment Promotion Center, in collaboration with the Southeast Asian Institute for Research, Development and Preservation of Culture and Arts, organized a competition to establish a record for 100 traditional cakes made from palm sugar.
The competition featured 10 teams of artisans and professional chefs from Kien Giang, Can Tho, Hau Giang, Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, Ba Ria - Vung Tau , Binh Duong, and various districts and cities of An Giang province.
At the competition, each participating team presented 10 dishes, all traditional cakes made with palm sugar as an ingredient.
Through the skillful hands of the chefs, 100 delicious and unique traditional cakes made from palm sugar were completed after more than 5 hours of preparation.
These dishes have been recognized by the Vietnam Record Organization as setting the record for "100 traditional cakes made from palm sugar".
