The planned itinerary includes round trips from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Con Son Airport (VCS), starting from April 15.

Vietjet also asked ACV to support ground services and sign a service contract for this new type of aircraft.

However, ACV representative said that there are still some procedures to be completed, ACV is coordinating with the airline to complete the documents, and affirmed that the infrastructure and safety are ready.

Vietjet's entry into the Con Dao route is expected to provide passengers with more convenient options, especially after Bamboo Airways stopped operating this route.

Currently, passengers from the North who want to go to Con Dao often have to transfer to Tan Son Nhat or Can Tho, then continue on an ATR72 aircraft of Vietnam Airlines or Vasco.

The Comac ARJ21 is a Chinese regional jet with a capacity of 78 to 97 seats and a range of 2,200 to 3,700 km. Due to its size suitable for the short runway at Kunshan Airport, the ARJ21 is considered a suitable choice for operating this special route.
