BARRON'S. The 2024 Paris Olympics are expected to boost France's GDP growth by 0.3 percentage points in the third quarter of 2024, bringing the economic growth rate in this period to 0.5%.

FRANCE 24. The commander of French forces in Europe, Bertrand Toujouse, said the movement of troops and military equipment across Europe was severely hampered by bureaucracy and the state of infrastructure.
AFP. The European Commission has paid Italy the fifth tranche of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) for the post-Covid-19 pandemic, amounting to 11 billion euros.
DW. A juvenile court in the southern German city of Würzburg, Bavaria (Bayern) sentenced a 15-year-old boy to more than eight years in a juvenile detention center for shooting and killing a classmate.
REUTERS. Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said the country has received $3.9 billion in funding from the United States through the World Bank.
"This is the first tranche of direct budget support from the United States in 2024. In total, Ukraine will receive $7.8 billion in direct budget support from the United States this year, which will allow us to confidently overcome this financial period," Shmyhal wrote on Telegram on August 5. |
SPUTNIK. Russian security services have detained two religious figures in the Tyumen region for recruiting 19 people to send to Syria to participate in terrorist activities.
