Exciting competition at the 2024 VinFast Cup National Golf Championship.

In the women's category, prominent professional athletes include Ngo Bao Nghi, Nguyen Thao My, Nguyen Thi Van Anh, and outstanding amateur athletes such as Le Chuc An (the reigning women's champion), Doan Xuan Khue Minh (the 2022 champion), Nguyen Viet Gia Han… In addition, we cannot fail to mention the participation of many young golfers, most notably Nguyen Khanh Linh (11 years old) - the youngest athlete in the tournament. Furthermore, the tournament also features the participation of 27 athletes from the national team.

The 2024 National Golf Championship, VinFast Cup - Hai Phong, will be played in a stroke play format over four rounds of 18 holes (a total of 72 holes). For the men's category, after 36 holes, there will be a cut, and only the top 50 players with the best scores and ties will advance. For the women's category, after 36 holes, there will be a cut, and only the top 12 players with the best scores and ties will advance. The winner will be the player with the lowest total gross score at the end of the tournament. The total prize fund is 1.2 billion VND (1 billion VND for the men's category and 200 million VND for the women's category).

In his opening remarks at the 2024 National Golf Championship, VinFast Cup - Hai Phong, journalist Phung Cong Suong - Editor-in-Chief of Tien Phong Newspaper and co-chairman of the Organizing Committee, stated: "With the mission of being a cradle for discovering, nurturing, and cultivating Vietnamese golf talent, aiming to reach continental and global levels, the national golf championship has continuously grown in scale and quality over the years, attracting increasing attention from ministries, departments, agencies, localities, and golf enthusiasts both domestically and internationally."

Two years ago, at Vinpearl Golf Hai Phong, the 2022 National Golf Championship – VinFast Cup crowned two champions: Nguyen Anh Minh (men's category) and Doan Xuan Khue Minh (women's category). In 2023, also at this location, the 2023 National Golf Championship – VinFast Cup saw Nguyen Nhat Long (men's category) and Le Chuc An (women's category) claim the top spot.

From the springboard of the national golf championship, top Vietnamese golfers confidently step onto the continental stage to continue their journey of conquering new heights. These include Le Chuc An, voted Female Golfer of the Year 2023 at the VGA Golf Awards 2023, who won the VGA Junior Tour 2024 and triumphed at the Faldo Series Asia Grand Final 2024. Another example is Nguyen Nhat Long, who, after the 2023 national golf championship, performed impressively with the Vietnamese golf team at the 19th Asian Games, finishing 10th in the men's team event. At the 32nd SEA Games in Cambodia in 2023, along with Le Khanh Hung and Doan Uy, Nguyen Anh Minh brought home a historic silver medal in the team golf event for the Vietnamese sports delegation. Most recently, Nguyen Anh Minh became the champion of the 2024 Taiwan Amateur Golf Championship with an impressive achievement, helping the golfer born in 2007 to further improve his position on the world amateur rankings.

It can be said that, along with prestigious golf tournaments and increasingly well-invested professional training academies in Vietnam, the National Golf Championship is doing a great job fulfilling its mission: serving as a top-tier arena and honoring Vietnamese golf talent.
