The 2024 National Golf Championship, VinFast Cup - Hai Phong has the participation of 150 golfers, including 120 male athletes and 30 female athletes. Of the 120 male athletes, there are 81 professional golfers and 39 amateur golfers. For women, there are 9 professional golfers and 21 amateur golfers. In the men's group, the typical professional athlete is the defending champion Nguyen Nhat Long, or the golfers leading the VGA Tour 2023 bonus rankings such as Nguyen Huu Quyet, Truong Chi Quan, Doan Van Dinh... In the women's table, typical professional athletes include Ngo Bao Nghi, Nguyen Thao My, Nguyen Thi Van Anh or outstanding amateur athletes such as Le Chuc An (reigning women's table champion), Doan Xuan Khue Minh (2022 champion), Nguyen Viet Gia Han... In addition, it is impossible not to mention the participation of many young golfers, notably athlete Nguyen Khanh Linh (11 years old) - the youngest athlete of the tournament. In addition, the tournament also has the participation of 27 athletes from the national team.

The 2024 National Golf Championship, VinFast Cup - Hai Phong takes place in stroke play format over 4 rounds of 18 holes (total of 72 holes). For the men's division, after 36 holes, there will be a cut and only the 50 players with the best results and ties will be allowed to continue competing. For the women's division, after 36 holes, there will be a cut and only the 12 players with the best results and ties will be allowed to continue competing. The winner is the player with the lowest total score (gross) at the end of the tournament. The total prize fund is 1.2 billion VND (1 billion VND for the men's division and 200 million VND for the women's division).

Two years ago, at Vinpearl Golf Hai Phong, the 2022 National Golf Championship – VinFast Cup named two champions: Nguyen Anh Minh (men's category) and Doan Xuan Khue Minh (women's category). In 2023, also here, the 2023 National Golf Championship – VinFast Cup witnessed Nguyen Nhat Long (men's category) and Le Chuc An (women's category) step onto the highest podium.

From the national golf championship platform, Vietnam's top golfers confidently stepped into the continental arena to continue their journey to conquer new heights. That is Le Chuc An, who was voted female golfer of the year 2023 at the VGA Golf Awards 2023, won the VGA Junior Tour 2024, and was crowned at the Faldo Series Asia Grand Final 2024. That is Nguyen Nhat Long, after the 2023 national golf championship, he and the Vietnamese golf team competed impressively at the 19th ASIAD with 10th place in the men's team rankings. At the 32nd SEA Games held in Cambodia in 2023, along with Le Khanh Hung and Doan Uy, Nguyen Anh Minh brought home the historic golf team silver medal for the Vietnamese sports delegation. Most recently, Nguyen Anh Minh became the champion of the Taiwan Amateur Golf Championship 2024 with an impressive achievement, helping the golfer born in 2007 improve his position on the world amateur rankings.
