On the morning of August 7, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training Le Hoai Nam said that at the end of the additional admission period for public grade 10 for the 2024-2025 school year, the entire city had 1,400 additional candidates admitted out of a total of 2,203 additional admission targets, reaching a rate of 63.54%.

This is a positive result in the work of recruiting additional 10th grade students in Ho Chi Minh City, as this year the conditions for recruiting additional 10th grade students have changed.

Specifically, Ho Chi Minh City only recruits additional grade 10 students who fail all three of their choices and requires the additional admission score to be equal to the third choice score of the high school where the student applies. In addition, the additional admission quota for public grade 10 students also has regulations on priority admission by region.

Through the results of additional enrollment for grade 10 in the 2024-2025 school year, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training assessed two achievements of this work.

Firstly, the supplementary enrollment work has helped ensure the rights of students who failed their three choices but due to many reasons such as choosing inappropriate choices, choosing wrong choices... with high scores to continue studying at public schools in the city.

Second, the application of regional priority in the additional enrollment of grade 10 has brought some advantages to candidates and high schools such as: ensuring the rights of candidates in remote areas with many difficulties to continue studying at public high schools; helping high schools in remote areas to enroll enough students compared to the assigned quota, ensuring better operating conditions than in previous school years.
