The Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (abbreviated as the Traffic Board) has just issued Document No. 5283/BQLDAGT-KHĐT reporting to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee on the progress of completing key traffic projects in 2024.

According to reports, from now until the end of the year, a series of urgent and key projects will be put into operation.

Specifically, in August 2024, the Phan Thuc Duyen underpass and the first section of the Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa road (from Phan Thuc Duyen to Thang Long street) in Tan Binh district will open to traffic. The expected opening time is August 10.

On August 30, the construction package of Ba Dat bridge, An Phu intersection, Thu Duc city will be completed (will be put into operation synchronously with the remaining packages).

In September 2024, Binh Hung Wastewater Treatment Plant (Phase 2) will be inaugurated on September 2. Next, Ten Lua Road (section from Road 29 to Provincial Road 10) will be opened to traffic on September 5 (information only, no opening ceremony).

From September 10 to 30, a series of projects will be opened to traffic, including: HC2 of the Nguyen Van Linh - Nguyen Huu intersection construction project (September 10); Nam Ly bridge opened to traffic (September 15); a branch of Ong Bon bridge opened to traffic (September 30); and Giong Ong To 2 bridge at An Phu intersection will be completed (September 30).

In the last two months of 2024, a series of important large-scale projects will be completed and put into operation. Of which, on November 30, Ba Hom Bridge and the Tan Ky - Tan Quy road expansion project (Binh Tan District) will be opened to traffic.

In particular, on the last day of 2024 (December 31, 2024), 9 important projects will be simultaneously inaugurated, including 4 bridges: Tan Ky Tan Quy; Phuoc Long; Rach Dia and a branch of Tang Long bridge.

Two important large-scale intersections, including the Nguyen Van Linh - Nguyen Huu Tho intersection (VND 830 billion), will be fully opened to traffic and the HC1 underpass at the An Phu intersection will also be opened to traffic on the same day, December 31, 2024.

Some other important routes opened to traffic on this occasion include the route connecting Tran Quoc Hoan Street to Cong Hoa Street; the expansion of Duong Quang Ham Street (from Binh Thanh District to the Cultural Park); and the opening of 4.3 km of the parallel road of National Highway 50.

According to the plan of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport, in 2024 the City will complete 38 traffic infrastructure projects (twice as many as the number of projects completed in 2023). Meanwhile, 16 new projects will start construction.
