Many important infrastructure projects in Ho Chi Minh City, such as the Nguyen Van Linh – Nguyen Huu Tho intersection; the An Phu traffic junction underpass; and the expansion of National Highway 50, will be completed by the end of 2024.

The Ho Chi Minh City Project Management Board for Investment and Construction of Transport Works (hereinafter referred to as the Transport Board) has just issued document No. 5283/BQLDAGT-KHĐT reporting to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee on the progress of completing key transport projects in 2024.

According to reports, a series of urgent and key projects will be opened to traffic between now and the end of the year.

Specifically, in August 2024, the Phan Thuc Duyet underpass and the first section of the Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa connecting road (from Phan Thuc Duyet to Thang Long road) in Tan Binh district will be opened to traffic. The opening is expected on August 10th.

On August 30th, the construction package for the Ba Dat Bridge and An Phu intersection in Thu Duc City will be completed (and will be put into operation simultaneously with the remaining packages).

In September 2024, the Binh Hung Wastewater Treatment Plant (Phase 2) will be inaugurated on September 2nd. Following that, the Ten Lua road (section from Road No. 29 to Provincial Road 10) will be opened to traffic on September 5th (this is just information, no official opening ceremony will be held).

From September 10th to 30th, a series of projects will be opened to traffic, including: HC2 of the Nguyen Van Linh – Nguyen Huu intersection construction project (September 10th); Nam Ly bridge (September 15th); a branch of Ong Bon bridge (September 30th); and completion of Giong Ong To 2 bridge at An Phu intersection (September 30th).

In the last two months of 2024, a series of important large-scale projects will be completed and put into operation. Specifically, on November 30th, the Ba Hom Bridge and the Tan Ky – Tan Quy road expansion project (Binh Tan District) will be opened to traffic.

In particular, on the last day of 2024 (December 31, 2024), nine important projects will be simultaneously inaugurated, including four bridges: Tan Ky Tan Quy; Phuoc Long; Rach Dia and a branch of the Tang Long bridge.

Two major large-scale interchanges, including the Nguyen Van Linh – Nguyen Huu Tho interchange (830 billion VND), will be fully opened to traffic, and the HC1 underpass at the An Phu interchange will also be opened to traffic on the same day, December 31, 2024.

Other important routes opened to traffic on this occasion include the road connecting Tran Quoc Hoan Street to Cong Hoa Street; the expansion of Duong Quang Ham Street (the section from Binh Thanh District to the Cultural Park); and the opening of 4.3 km of the parallel road to National Highway 50.

According to the plan of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport, in 2024 the city will complete 38 transportation infrastructure projects (twice the number of projects completed in 2023). Meanwhile, 16 new projects will be started.
