On the afternoon of December 22, the Ministry of National Defense held a summary and award ceremony for the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024.
Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, Deputy Minister of National Defense and Head of the exhibition steering committee, said that in the series of events celebrating the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day, the exhibition is the largest and most important defense diplomacy event of the year.
The exhibition was a great success, ensuring absolute security and safety in all aspects.

Talking about the public's interest, the Deputy Minister said that today the number of visitors is still very large, especially at the experience booths of the Vietnamese defense industry, there are long lines of people waiting their turn. "We are very proud, never imagined," the Deputy Minister shared.
The opening of the Vietnam Military History Museum to visitors was also a "phenomenon" when it received a peak of 47,000 visitors per day, while the counter at the Defense Exhibition on December 21 counted 125,000 people. So far, after 2 days, a total of over 260,000 people have visited. Due to the still great demand from the people, the Ministry of National Defense decided to open some exhibition booths until December 23.
The Deputy Minister said that after receiving the instructions, the units and booths were very excited and ready to serve the people. The Deputy Minister was moved by the dedication of the service forces to make the exhibition a success. The exhibition organizing committee distributed more than 60,000 free bottles of water and dry food to visitors and prepared carefully, forecasting the situation closely.
Assessing the media work, Deputy Minister Hoang Xuan Chien said that the "media power" was very large, not only reflected in more than 8,000 articles about the exhibition, and 400 domestic and international reporters working. Social media platforms posted a lot of positive information expressing pride in the exhibition. Delegates from countries attending the exhibition also highly appreciated it.
The Deputy Minister was moved to talk about meeting an 83-year-old veteran who still made the effort to travel from Dien Bien to Hanoi to visit the exhibition and witness the achievements of Vietnam's defense industry. People have more understanding of the national defense industry and believe in the strength of the Army. Such images add strength to the Army.

16 contracts worth more than 286 million USD were signed at the exhibition, double that of the 2022 exhibition, which the Deputy Minister said was noteworthy.
He affirmed that through a series of commemorative activities including the exhibition, it has contributed to demonstrating the position and prestige of Vietnam and the Vietnam People's Army in the international arena.
To achieve such results, the leader of the Ministry of National Defense said that it was due to the leadership, direction, command and operation; the determination and determination of all levels and forces from top to bottom. The forces underwent many joint training sessions, with some units practicing since March.
The Deputy Minister talked about the opening ceremony with the air force's flying display. The pilots flew very confidently and satisfactorily, and there were many people waiting on the Long Bien dike to admire the performance.
The Deputy Minister requested that the event be used as experience for the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South, the 80th anniversary of National Day taking place in 2025 and subsequent exhibitions. The ground forces from military dogs, special forces, military bands, actors, singers... with their hard work in practicing and performing were also very impressive.
However, the Deputy Minister noted that we must not be subjective because the exhibition will still take place tomorrow, and we must coordinate well to ensure security, safety, service, and guidance for visitors.
