According to Major Trieu Thanh Dat, the current organizational model of the Ministry of Public Security has 3 levels. At the local level, there are provincial-level police and commune-level police, and there is no longer a district-level police organization. The Department of Training has reported to the Ministry's leaders and has provided instructions and assigned tasks to commune-level police to receive candidates' application files.

“Thus, candidates will go to the commune/ward where they usually reside to register. Commune-level police officers will guide them in filling out their application, filling out their personal history, and checking the conditions to ensure they meet the requirements to apply to the People's Police Academy,” Major Dat informed.

Regarding the People's Public Security recruitment schedule, the representative of the Training Department noted two important time frames for candidates. Before April 15, candidates must register for admission to schools. After April 15, continue to complete the application and conduct the preliminary selection process. The unit will check the academic qualifications, health, and political standards and complete before May 30, send them to the People's Public Security academies/schools to organize the entrance exam.

In 2025, 8 Police schools will recruit 2,200 new university students. This exam has changes related to the assessment test that have been publicly announced so that candidates can understand and proactively review. Specifically, the assessment test of the Ministry of Public Security has 4 test codes (while last year there were only 2 test codes) to match the 2018 General Education Program. With compulsory and elective subjects, candidates will choose test codes that match their strengths to take the exam.

Regarding the admission method, the Police schools agreed on 3 methods: Direct admission according to the Regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training; Admission through the assessment test of the Ministry of Public Security combined with international foreign language certificates; Admission through the assessment test of the Ministry of Public Security combined with the 2025 high school graduation exam scores.

Another new feature this year is that international language certificates will be combined with assessment tests instead of considering academic records. It is expected that candidates with IELTS scores of 5.5 or higher can participate in this admission method.

“We still agree to let qualified candidates register for the exam. However, before May 30, candidates will continue to complete their academic records to officially meet the requirements to apply to the People's Police Academy.

Although the 2025 entrance exam will have many changes, according to the policy of the Ministry of Public Security, it will try to maintain stability in the methods, methods and assessment tests implemented in recent years. The assessment test will only change so that the content is consistent with the 2018 General Education Program for this year's high school graduates," said a senior specialist of the Department of Training.
