MAXIMUM PROTECTION OF CONSUMER RIGHTS

Counterfeit goods are rampant, infiltrating everything from traditional markets to e-commerce platforms, causing not only consumer confusion but also anxiety among businesses and distributors who fear damage to their reputation if they happen to sell fake products.

Ms. Trang Tuyet Thao, owner of Tuyet Thao Pharmacy (Ward 3, Bac Lieu City), shared: “Recently, counterfeit medicines and dietary supplements have been continuously cracked down on on a large scale, affecting the business of my pharmacy. To protect consumers' health, I only import medicines from reputable companies. For imported goods, I only prioritize importing from companies with product declaration certificates, and especially avoid importing goods of unknown origin.”

Forecasts indicate that drug trafficking, smuggling, and counterfeit goods will continue to occur with new and more sophisticated methods and tactics, posing difficulties for law enforcement agencies. Therefore, in the coming period, the Provincial Steering Committee 389 will continue to implement solutions to combat drug trafficking, smuggling, and counterfeit goods in accordance with the evolving situation in the province. Accordingly, the focus will be on effectively combating and preventing illegal drug trafficking, smuggling, production and trading of counterfeit goods, and the illegal transportation of gold, foreign currency, and counterfeit goods. Identifying prominent issues and emerging areas of violations will be crucial for effective prevention and handling.

Simultaneously, it is necessary to improve the professional skills, expertise, and ethics of officials and civil servants, especially to prevent them from aiding, abetting, protecting, or covering up activities related to violence, human trafficking, and human trafficking. Coordination with media agencies, mass media, and the press is crucial to intensify propaganda efforts through various forms, contributing to the effectiveness of the fight against violence, human trafficking, and human trafficking.

The problem of counterfeit goods is becoming increasingly complex, causing many negative consequences for the economy , affecting the competitiveness of businesses and the rights of consumers... To combat counterfeit goods, in addition to the efforts of relevant authorities and the awareness of manufacturing businesses, it also requires the awareness and vigilance of consumers.
