Gia Lai Provincial Inspectorate has just issued a conclusion on the management and use of funding sources and construction investment work at La Grai District People's Committee from 2021 to 2023.

In the process of managing and using the state budget in departments, offices, and school units, the People's Committees of communes and towns spent more than 4.1 billion VND in violation of regulations.

According to the inspection conclusion, the Ia Grai Department of Education and Training spent the most money. Specifically, in the process of budget management, the Head of the Department of Education and Training and the department's professional staff assessed and approved the conversion of teaching hours for teachers at 41 kindergartens, primary schools, and secondary schools against regulations, causing the schools to spend more than 3.1 billion VND on teachers' overtime in violation of regulations.

In communes and towns, according to the inspection conclusion, in the process of managing and operating construction investment work, the People's Committees of 13 communes and towns still had many shortcomings in the stage of checking design documents - estimates; the work of supervising construction, checking completion documents, final settlement and acceptance of works was not strict, leading to incorrect expenditure of 456 million VND...

Gia Lai Provincial Inspectorate requested the Provincial People's Committee to direct the Chairman of Ia Grai District People's Committee to review, rectify and overcome existing shortcomings in the inspection and supervision of budget revenue and expenditure and the inspection and supervision of investors in the implementation of construction investment in the locality.

At the same time, the Provincial Inspectorate requested the People's Committee of Ia Grai district to review the responsibilities of relevant collectives and individuals of the Department of Finance - Planning, Department of Education and Training, Department of Economy - Infrastructure; departments, offices, units assigned to be investors of construction works, chairmen of People's Committees of communes and towns and individuals who have committed violations, causing damage to the state budget.

Regarding the amount of money spent incorrectly of more than 4.1 billion VND, the Provincial Inspectorate requested the People's Committee of Ia Grai district to direct the heads of departments, offices, units, principals of schools, and chairmen of People's Committees of communes and towns related to the violations to be responsible for recovering and paying into the state budget according to regulations.
