Journalist Pham Hong Tuyen, the musician's daughter, shared with Tuoi Tre Online that many times when talking about this song, her father said he "composed it in about two hours but added it to his whole life".

Meaning the song is the result of the repression, suppression and anticipation of a 20-year resistance war.
After the musician finished writing, the song was arranged and recorded with a symphony orchestra very quickly to be broadcast in time for a special news bulletin at 5:30 p.m. on April 30, 1975 for people across the country to hear.
A few days ago, a member of the orchestra called the musician's family because as April 30th approached, memories of that year came back vividly.
"She said that on the day of the great victory , the whole orchestra burst into tears, playing music and crying at the same time," said Ms. Tuyen.
Pham Tuyen said he composed the song "As if Uncle Ho were here on the great victory day" out of personal feelings, but believed it also resonated with the feelings of the people of the whole country.
The musician considers the song as the greatest reward in his composing career. Among the hundreds of songs he has written, As if Uncle Ho were here on the day of great victory is also the most unforgettable memory.

Ms. Tuyen said that in the country's important events, "As if Uncle Ho were there on the day of great victory" resounded again. His music portrayed him as a "musician of the people".

When she was a child, she heard people sing "As if Uncle Ho were here on the great victory day ". Growing up, going to school and working, she was happy when someone said "daughter of musician Pham Tuyen, composed "As if Uncle Ho were here on the great victory day ".
When the Vietnamese football team wins, people still sing this song. The song is also very familiar to international friends because it has the phrase "Vietnam Ho Chi Minh". Listening to the lyrics, you immediately know the country of Vietnam.
