Quickly covered up

The popularity of a musician depends on the hit of a song. That is almost an "immutable" rule of the Vietnamese music market from the past to the present. That means the more hits a musician has, the more famous he is. Of course, the assessment of the popularity of musicians in the past and present is different, depending on the somewhat different preferences of the audience in the past and present. If in the past musicians were famous for their composing style, today musicians are famous for hits that are measured and counted in the market.
It is undeniable that the creativity of young musicians when approaching the general trend of world music and the novelty, has made Vietnamese music change significantly. It is not difficult to see the rapid "change of throne" of young musicians in the music market. This is also completely understandable when music is produced according to fashion trends. Any song that becomes a hit, the composer naturally becomes more famous. But when another hit song appears, the person who was a phenomenon is quickly overshadowed by another name. That is almost an obvious rule and young composers are not too "heavy-hearted" about this.
Must know how to upgrade yourself
Music of the present can hardly be outside the rules of fashion , as the world music wheel operates today. However, in order for the longevity of a song to not be determined by the preferences of the listener, young composers need to consider the problems of shaping their compositional style instead of just following trends.
"High artistry" is a huge difference between old and new hits. That also means that many old musicians became famous because their compositional style was shaped differently. Regardless of the style, the songs were composed based on artistic values. Meanwhile, most of the songs of today are more about entertainment. It would be lame to use old values to evaluate and compare with the present, but it is clear that a literary work must be thoughtful, the lyrics must be rich in imagery. In short, the poetry in the composition cannot be copied directly into music as many young people do today. Breakups and sentimentality must also be beautiful and poetic, not just insults and blasphemy.
Musician Tien Luan said: "Today's songs are composed to please listeners. And everything has two sides. Easy to reach the public but also easy to forget. Therefore, it is natural that many songs have a short lifespan."
Young composers also have their own difficulties. Most of them are aware that a song that is fashionable and entertaining will quickly be forgotten. But the economic problem also causes many young people a "headache". Some musicians choose to take advantage of the opportunity, composing hastily when the "time comes" and accept being forgotten soon.
According to musician Giang Son, the longevity of a composer depends largely on their own knowledge base. Young people are enthusiastic and talented, but sometimes a bit hasty. When they have a successful product, combined with the ability to compose quickly, they are easily stereotyped, while the market is always changing, the audience always demands something new. Not to mention, artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly developing, supporting a lot in composing, so if abused, it can easily lead to similar songs that lack identity.
"Technology only plays a supporting role, helping musicians' work more smoothly, but technology has no soul, and songs without soul cannot move listeners. To have beautiful emotions, musicians must cultivate life experiences, should not depend too much on technology" - musician Giang Son said.
According to experts, young musicians need to consider upgrading themselves through creative thinking. Making art is a direction, not following the interests of others.
