Thai Trang's poetry journey is a long process, full of experiences and emotions. He has won many literary and artistic awards such as: B Prize in the creative movement of the Vietnam Rubber Industry Group; Fourth Prize in the poetry competition to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and 30 years of national renewal. And recently, poet Thai Trang won First Prize - Competition for Composing and Promoting Literary, Artistic and Journalistic Works on the Theme "Studying and Following Ho Chi Minh's Thought, Morality and Style" Phase II (2023 - 2025). These awards are a testament to his efforts and talent on the literary path.

The poetry collection “Leaf Melody” , published after 25 years of writing poetry and teaching, is an important milestone in Thai Trang’s writing career. The collection consists of 4 parts, of which 3 parts have the sound of dreams: Childhood dreams, sea dreams, and separation dreams…

This shows that, to some extent, Thai Trang’s poetry is romantic and dreamy. However, that does not mean that his poetry is far from reality.

On the contrary, Thai Trang's poetry is firmly rooted in life, but he breathes life into it to make it shimmer and magical like a dream. This is a unique feature in his poetic art.

Thai Trang's poetry is the voice of a son of the Southwest, imbued with the alluvial flavor of the Tien and Hau rivers. He writes about simple, familiar things in life, about people, landscapes, and homeland. In his poems, you will encounter images of vast rice fields, vast rivers, and simple, honest people. All are expressed through a loving, respectful, and optimistic perspective.

The rice field is personified as a large, generous friend, embracing simple souls. The image of “moon life” evokes eternity and peace, just like the way rice fields nourish both the body and spirit of people. Through rich imagery and emotional language, the poem not only paints a picture of the rustic Vietnamese countryside but also conveys profound thoughts about the relationship between humans and nature.

Thai Trang is a math teacher, so his thinking is logical and rigorous. However, when it comes to poetry, he shows a skillful transformation in language and imagery. His poetry is not dry and heavy on reason, but on the contrary, it is rich in emotion, romance and lyricism.

Thai Trang's poetic language is very selective, profound and evocative. He knows how to use simple, familiar words to express deep emotions and thoughts. The poetic images in Thai Trang's poetry are often shimmering, magical, and polysemous, creating a distinct and unique poetic style, such as the first two lines in the poem "Luc Bat Song Tien":

Floating mist and smoke across
dark sunset
golden sunset this afternoon

The harmony between emotion and scene, between meaning and poetic image is one of the factors that create the appeal of Thai Trang's poetry. In particular, Thai Trang's poetry often carries the sound of things and nature in the Tien and Hau rivers. He has the ability to perceive and subtly express the colors and rhythms of life, expressed through two verses:
