Monitoring data shows that by late this morning (August 6th), the water level of the Tich River was receding. At the Kim Quan hydrological station (Thach That district), it was at alarm level I (13cm below alarm level II); at the Vinh Phuc hydrological station (Quoc Oai district), it was at alarm level I (22cm below alarm level II).

Water levels in other rivers and major drainage channels in Hanoi are also below the warning level. According to the Northern Delta and Central Highlands Regional Meteorological and Hydrological Station, Hanoi will continue to experience hot weather on August 6th and 7th. Therefore, water levels in inland rivers will continue to decrease.

According to statistics from the Hanoi City Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue, as of late morning on August 6th, the number of households affected by flooding has been largely eliminated. Particularly in Chuong My district, where 2,844 households were affected by flooding at 7:00 AM on July 29th, only a few dozen remain. Most families who had to evacuate have returned home and are stabilizing their lives.

In recent times, the Hanoi City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee have paid special attention to disaster response and recovery efforts. The city has directed districts to proactively implement plans to ensure relief and support for the people; preventing situations where people lack drinking water, essential supplies, and food.

In addition, localities have seriously and effectively implemented measures to ensure security and order; actively carried out environmental sanitation, disinfection, and sterilization to prevent the outbreak of diseases; and provided support for medical examinations, treatment, medicine, and medical equipment to the people…

To proactively respond to the complex weather developments and minimize damage caused by natural disasters, the Hanoi City Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue continues to request the People's Committees of districts, towns, and cities, as well as departments and agencies, to effectively implement the directives and guidelines of the Central Government and the City in the work of disaster prevention and search and rescue.

The key tasks in the coming period are to maintain close monitoring of weather conditions and natural disasters; organize a rigorous duty roster; strengthen inspections and promptly handle any incidents that occur; and regularly report to the Standing Office for proactive response guidance to minimize damage caused by natural disasters.

As of 11:00 AM today (August 6th), all four major hydroelectric reservoirs on the Red River system are operating and releasing floodwaters. Specifically, the Hoa Binh reservoir has opened four spillway gates, while the Son La , Tuyen Quang, and Thac Ba reservoirs each have opened three spillway gates. The Hanoi City Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue has issued a document requesting riverside localities to proactively respond to the risk of flooding due to rising water levels in the Red River, Da River, and Duong River.
