A man from Bac Giang province invented a peanut threshing machine and a rice planting machine at a low price; the whole village was amazed.

This year, the company is researching and testing a model for a tray-throwing tool that allows producers to plant seedlings in rows as desired (wide rows - narrow rows), also known as the edge row effect method.

According to Mr. Thanh, the practice of sowing and transplanting rice in wide and narrow rows has been implemented in many places and has been evaluated as having good results, but this method has not yet been applied to seedlings sent to trays.

Therefore, during the last rice crop season, the company conducted trials of this method for seedlings transplanted into trays. To date, the rice has been harvested and has yielded many positive results.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Thanh, from Tan Trung commune, Tan Yen district ( Bac Giang province), introduces a tool for throwing rice seedlings in rows using trays. Besides the tray seedling throwing tool, Mr. Thanh has also successfully invented a peanut threshing machine and a rice sowing machine.

Introducing this production method, Mr. Nguyen Duc Thanh said that he utilized materials from production such as wood and PVC plastic to design a roof-like structure to serve as a planting mold, replacing the traditional planting wire used by farmers, allowing him to adjust the width of the rows as desired.

When using it, people throw rice seedlings into the chute; each person can carry 2-3 chutes at a time.

The purpose of this method is to space the rice plants appropriately to take advantage of direct sunlight on the roots, stems, and leaves, stimulating rapid growth, early tillering, and strong branching, thus increasing the number of plants per clump and the number of grains per ear. At the same time, this method also facilitates rice care, reduces pest and disease damage, and decreases the amount of rice seed needed.

Commenting on this model, Mr. Dao Xuan Vinh, Director of the Agricultural Extension Center, remarked that the method of planting rice in wide and narrow rows has been widely applied in rice production and has yielded high efficiency.

The tool designed by Mr. Nguyen Duc Thanh for scattering rice seedlings in trays according to desired rows is a good idea. In subsequent seasons, it needs to be monitored and evaluated to make recommendations for farmers.

Hopefully, with his passion, Mr. Nguyen Duc Thanh will continue to research, innovate, and bring to market new types of agricultural machinery and effective methods to help farmers reduce costs, shorten labor time, and apply them to practical production in each locality in the province as well as nationwide.
