Faced with the reality of oversupply in the global grape industry, the three leading grape-producing countries in the Americas – Mexico, Chile, and Peru – have announced the formation of an alliance to boost global consumption.

The event took place within the framework of the first-ever Global Grape Forum 2024, held in Chile, bringing together the world's largest grape growers.
This new alliance will focus on coordinating marketing campaigns for grapes targeting key markets. Simultaneously, the three countries will share information on varieties, yields, and inventory levels to optimize production and distribution processes.
According to data from the 2024 Global Grape Forum, global grape exports for the 2023-2024 season are estimated at 3.6 million tons. In the Southern Hemisphere, Chile and Peru account for 64% of the market share, followed by South Africa with 21%.
