The first Central Highlands Regional Press Awards had 250 entries in 4 categories of journalism (print, electronic, radio and television). Through the judging process, the Central Highlands Press Awards Organizing Committee selected 22 outstanding entries to award prizes, including: Print and Electronic Newspaper categories (1 First Prize, 2 Second Prizes, 3 Third Prizes, 5 Consolation Prizes); Radio and Television categories (1 First Prize, 2 Second Prizes, 3 Third Prizes, 5 Consolation Prizes).
According to the judges, the entries were well-thought-out and of good quality in terms of content and form. Some entries had new, concise, and brief themes, with rich content combining multiple methods of information transmission, creating a pervasive effect and attracting readers.
There are many unique themes, rich in images, scene sounds, character sounds, background sounds, music… quite vivid, profound, with investment to bring rich content. Especially the cultural features and efforts to preserve customs and culture of local authorities and ethnic minorities in the Central Highlands.

Through the judging process, the Organizing Committee of the Central Highlands Press Award selected 22 outstanding works to award prizes.
The topic mentioned by many units is protecting the sovereignty and security of the Fatherland, building a great solidarity bloc in the community of ethnic groups in the Central Highlands, fighting against the plots and tricks of reactionary forces that incite hatred among ethnic groups to divide the People from the Party and the government; causing instability in the land rich in revolutionary traditions.
In addition, the works participating in the 1st Central Highlands Regional Press Award also reflect all aspects of the lives of the Central Highlands people in building a cultural life in the villages, uniting to help each other eliminate hunger and reduce poverty, popularizing culture, eliminating illiteracy... Especially raising awareness of joining hands to protect forests, protect wildlife to keep the Central Highlands green.

The Organizing Committee awarded the first prize to author Vo Van Viet - Lam Dong Newspaper with the work: 4-part series "Before the 3 words "change" - how to create?"
On this occasion, Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper presented 5,000 national flags from the “Frontier National Flag” program and awarded scholarships to support ethnic minority and poor students in Gia Lai province. At the ceremony, the Vietnam Traffic Safety Association also presented 300 helmets to poor students in Gia Lai province.
In addition, the Vietnam Journalists Association in collaboration with the Gia Lai Provincial Journalists Association organized a journalism training course on "Creating multimedia journalism works and experience in producing works to participate in journalism awards" for 2 days, August 5-6.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Tran Trong Dung - Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association said: "This is the first year that the Central Highlands Journalism Award has been organized by the Vietnam Journalists Association to recognize and reward those who are working in journalism and propaganda of press agencies with good quality works about the Central Highlands. At the same time, it is an opportunity to encourage journalists to improve the quality and quantity of their journalistic works, reflecting the life and potential for economic and tourism development in the Central Highlands region."

At the ceremony, Mr. Tran Trong Dung launched the 2nd Central Highlands Press Award - 2025.
"We hope that editorial offices will focus on orienting and actively implementing press topics on digital transformation and innovation; revolutionary press information must truly become the mainstream information in the digital space.
“Focus on promoting all elements in the stages of digital transformation of journalism, focusing on training human resources on digital platforms, human resources in professional expertise. Pay special attention to researching the public and product forms that are attractive, highly interactive, and widely spread among the public,” Mr. Dung emphasized.
