Candle lighting ceremony to honor heroic martyrs

On the evening of April 28, at the Martyrs' Cemetery of Son La City, the Son La City Youth Union held a "Candle Lighting Ceremony" to pay tribute to heroic martyrs on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

Attending the ceremony were the Association of War Veterans and the City's Former Youth Volunteers Association and 150 union members and youth from the following units: Son La City Youth Union, Tay Bac University Youth Union, Son La College, Son La Medical College.

Offering flowers and incense to the heroic martyrs at the City Martyrs Cemetery

Before the heroic martyrs, delegates and members of the Youth Union reported on practical work, promoting the youth's strength to contribute to building a prosperous homeland. At the same time, they respectfully offered flowers, incense and lit candles to commemorate and pay tribute to the graves of the martyrs, those who heroically sacrificed to protect the Fatherland.

This is a practical activity, demonstrating the tradition of "When drinking water, remember its source" maintained annually by Son La City Youth Union, expressing deep gratitude to the generations of fathers and brothers who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the nation and the happiness of the people.

On the evening of April 28, at the Mai Son District Martyrs' Cemetery, the District Youth Union held an incense offering and candle lighting ceremony to pay tribute to heroic martyrs on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

District leaders, cadres, soldiers, and youth union members of Mai Son district visited the heroic martyrs.

Attending the ceremony were district leaders; officers and soldiers of the District Military Command, Mobile Police Battalion No. 2 (Ministry of Public Security); representatives of youth union members of communes and towns in the district.

The district leaders, cadres, soldiers and youth union members expressed their sincere respect and gratitude for the great contributions of the heroic martyrs. Before the souls of the heroic martyrs, the leaders, cadres, soldiers and youth union members of Mai Son district promised to continue to strive to compete, study, work and contribute following the example of the great Uncle Ho, following the glorious tradition of generations of predecessors; joining hands to build the homeland of Mai Son to become more and more prosperous and civilized.
