According to experts, Vietnam's marine economic development in recent years has not been harmoniously integrated with social development and environmental protection to achieve sustainable green marine economic development.

The papers submitted and presented at the Conference, from various perspectives, clarified the significance of the blue economy, the Party's guidelines, and the State's policies and laws aimed at promoting and creating momentum for sustainable development of the marine economy. The Conference also focused on in-depth analysis of the current state of marine economic sectors and the development of the blue economy in Vietnam and its localities.
Many opinions highlighted the role of foreign affairs, propaganda, external information, and issues related to Vietnam's maritime and island sovereignty ; and the role, potential, and contributions of businesses to the development of the blue economy...

The workshop unanimously agreed that, in order to further concretize the Party's guidelines and directions, and the State's laws on the management, exploitation, and use of marine space in accordance with Resolution No. 36-NQ/TW, dated October 22, 2018, of the 8th Plenum of the 12th Central Committee on the Strategy for Sustainable Development of Vietnam's Marine Economy to 2030, with a vision to 2045, and the Resolution of the 13th National Congress of the Party on building Vietnam into a strong maritime nation, rich from the sea, with sustainable development, prosperity, security, and safety, it is necessary to have innovative and breakthrough thinking, in line with global trends in the new situation, in which building a blue marine economy must be considered the foundation.
The Central Propaganda Department and Hanoi National University need to continue coordinating with relevant agencies to refine the research results of the conference and proactively publish and disseminate them quickly to agencies and units working on maritime and island affairs. This will contribute to raising awareness among cadres, Party members, and all strata of the people about the important role of maritime and island affairs in the cause of national construction and defense in the new situation; and encourage all levels, sectors, and localities to actively develop the marine economy sustainably with practical and effective solutions.
