September is typically the month Apple launches new iPhone models. The latest leaks suggest that a store in China has accurate information on this year's iPhone launch date.

According to CNMO Technology News , the iPhone 16 series will be announced on September 10th. This seems logical, as Apple typically holds iPhone launch events on Tuesdays. For example, last year, the iPhone 15 launch event was held on September 12th, also a Tuesday.
One exception is the iPhone 14 launch event, which is held on a Wednesday, but Apple has a reason to break with tradition in 2022.
The iPhone 16 is shaping up to be one of Apple's most exciting iPhone releases in years. This is because Apple is focusing on AI features, something everyone seems to be interested in right now.
In terms of hardware, fans can expect the iPhone 16 Pro models to have larger screen sizes (iPhone 16 Pro with a 6.3-inch screen, and iPhone 16 Pro Max with a 6.9-inch screen). A new dedicated camera button and a faster new 3nm chip will be included in all new iPhone models this year.
The Action Button, which was exclusive to last year's iPhone 15 Pro models, will be a standard feature across the entire product line this year.
Additionally, the iPhone 16 Pro will feature the 5x optical zoom Tetraprism lens from the iPhone 15 Pro Max. The Pro models are also likely to be equipped with a new 48MP ultra-wide-angle camera.
Aside from the iPhone 16 Plus, all other models are expected to have significantly increased battery capacity and support faster wired and wireless charging speeds.
While last year's iPhone lineup only had the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max that were technically eligible for Apple Intelligence features, this year, all iPhone 16 models are capable of utilizing Apple's AI capabilities. This is seen as Apple's strategy to make the iPhone 16 line superior to other flagship smartphones of 2024.
Released earlier than usual in South Korea.
According to the Korea Times , Apple is considering launching the iPhone 16 series in South Korea earlier than usual due to weakening demand in China.

This could mark a significant shift for Apple, as South Korea has not been one of the first countries to release Apple products since the iPhone 3GS in 2009.
According to sources cited by the Korea Times , preparations are underway for the early release of the iPhone 16 series in the country.
Historically, despite the iPhone's significant market share in South Korea, new models have often been released in the country several weeks after their launch in other markets. This is partly due to Apple's strict security policies and South Korea's rigorous certification system.
Despite these challenges, Apple appears to be reconsidering its strategy for the South Korean market this year, given the demand and promising potential there.
Data from Canalys indicates that Apple's market share in China fell to 14% in Q2 2024, down from 16% a year earlier. This decline has pushed Apple out of the top five smartphone suppliers in China. This is believed to be one of the reasons why South Korea is considered a key market for Apple this year.
The iPhone 16 series is expected to be unveiled by Apple in September with many anticipated upgrades. Among them, the new AI features in iOS 18 – Apple Intelligence, which Apple introduced at WWDC 2024 – will be the focus of attention in Apple's artificial intelligence race with Android competitors, as the latest iOS will be officially released alongside the iPhone 16 line.
