At the opening ceremony, the Organizing Committee displayed more than 200 books from the Hue Bookcase and 50 book cover designs by secondary school students with the theme “My Hometown Hue”. At the same time, the Reading Culture Ambassador Contest 2025 was launched, aiming to build a learning society and nurture the desire to contribute in the young generation.

Dang Nguyen Ngoc Nhi, a 12th grade student at Quoc Hoc Hue High School for the Gifted, participated in Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day 2025 and said: “I find Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day a very useful and interesting day, with many activities to help students learn about books as well as enhance their love for books. I think reading brings a lot of meaning, knowledge, and equips me with a luggage to develop myself more in the future.”

Highlights of this Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day in Hue are the launch of two new publications: “Hue - Monuments and Landscapes”, providing an overview of historical, architectural and cultural relics associated with the ancient capital of Hue; the publication “Village Covenants in Hue City” which collects 67 typical village covenants, a valuable source of information for research on traditional villages.
The Organizing Committee has donated 500 copies of the book to public libraries, educational institutions and research units in the area.

Mr. Phan Thanh Hai, Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Hue City said: “We really want all classes of people, especially the young generation, to be nurtured and have the best conditions to access the system of books and treasures of knowledge.
