Archer Kim Woo Jin won the gold medal in the men's individual archery event at the 2024 Olympics on the evening of August 4. This means that South Korea is the first country in history to win all five gold medals in all archery events at one Olympics. Kim Woo Jin had a tense final match with his opponent Brady Ellison of the United States. The two struggled for each point, when they both shot 10 points three times in a row to bring the score to 5-5. And the victory belonged to the Korean archer. Kim Woo Jin's final shot hit 55mm from the center, while Ellison's was 60mm away. The final score was 6-5 for the Korean representative.

This is the third gold medal for veteran archer Kim Woo Jin at the 2024 Olympics. This helps him tie the record with teammate Lim Si Hyeon. Both won their team and mixed team events and each has an individual gold medal. At the same time, Kim Woo Jin became the first archer to win 5 gold medals at the Olympics. With this result, Korea has "swept away" 5 gold medals in archery in all 2024 Olympic events: Men's and women's individual; men's and women's team and mixed team. This is a historic achievement that is difficult for any sports delegation to break in the near future.
