The above information was given at the Conference on Summary of the pilot digital report card for primary schools and launching its implementation at the secondary level, organized by the Hanoi Department of Education and Training this morning (August 12).
At the conference, Mr. Tran The Cuong said that as of July 31, the rate of digitally signed transcripts out of the total number of primary school students in Hanoi reached 97.6%. This is the leading unit nationwide in the implementation of digital transcripts at the primary level.
The remaining transcripts are from some students who have not completed their tasks, continue to practice during the summer and will complete the digital signature after receiving additional results. In addition, some students studying at international schools, students whose parents have not provided personal identification codes.
However, according to Mr. Tran The Cuong, during the pilot process, there were still some difficulties such as costs arising from infrastructure, storage and operation of the digital student report data system; teachers had to use their personal phones and devices to install digital signature management software; teachers in some units had to pay for the maintenance of digital signature services themselves.
Based on the pilot results for primary schools, Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training Tran The Cuong launched the implementation of digital report cards in all general schools from the 2024-2025 school year.
To do this, Mr. Ha Minh Hai, Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee, requested the Hanoi Department of Education and Training to unify awareness of digital transformation among cadres, teachers, and employees in the whole sector, especially the responsibility of the head of each unit.
At the same time, the Department needs to pay attention to investing in synchronous data infrastructure; promote digitalization and data connection; focus on "4 no's" including: Meetings without face-to-face meetings; paperless document processing; contactless administrative procedure settlement and cashless payment.
Also at the conference, Mr. Thai Van Tai, Director of the Department of Primary Education, Ministry of Education and Training, said that since its launch, the Steering Committee for the pilot implementation of digital report cards (Ministry of Education and Training) requested localities nationwide to pilot about 50% of schools, but Hanoi exceeded the target, implementing nearly 100% of schools.
According to Mr. Tai, the use of digital report cards helps increase transparency and systematization in data, and saves money as teachers and schools do not have to print millions of report cards. This cost savings can be used to invest in other educational goals.
In the coming time, localities need to increase propaganda to parents to avoid confusion; increase the participation of schools in the non-public education system.
