Specifically, on August 7-8, 2024, GELEX Group purchased 50 million and 39 million EIB shares respectively through transactions on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange.
Following the completion of the transaction, GELEX's ownership increased from 85.5 million shares, representing 4.9%, to 174.6 million shares, equivalent to 10% of the bank's charter capital.
Thus, GELEX is now the largest shareholder of Eximbank. Meanwhile, according to data updated as of August 6, 2024, the list of shareholders owning 1% or more of Eximbank's charter capital no longer includes Thang Phuong Joint Stock Company - a company with ties to Bamboo Capital (BCG) - and Mr. Nguyen Ho Nam - Vice Chairman of Eximbank's Board of Directors.
Thang Phuong previously held 53.4 million EIB shares, equivalent to 3.07% of the bank's capital as of July 1st.

Eximbank welcomes new shareholders amidst a backdrop of credit growth, improved net interest margin (NIM), and reductions in outstanding non-performing loans.
According to international credit rating agency S&P Global Ratings, business restructuring efforts have helped the bank maintain higher profitability. This forms the basis for maintaining the long-term counterparty credit rating of B+ and the "Stable" outlook for Eximbank amidst challenging economic conditions.
Recently, Eximbank's Q2/2024 financial report showed total assets increased by 4.1% compared to the previous quarter, along with a 3.7% increase in outstanding loans.
The bank effectively controlled liquidity and capital safety indicators, and complied with the regulations of the State Bank of Vietnam. As a result, pre-tax profit in the second quarter reached VND 813 billion, an increase of 23% compared to the first quarter and a 52% increase compared to the same period last year.
As for GELEX, by the end of July 2024, the company had exceeded its annual profit target. Specifically, for the first seven months of 2024, GELEX's consolidated net revenue reached VND 18,527 billion, equivalent to 57% of the annual plan; consolidated pre-tax profit reached VND 1,975 billion, achieving 103% of the annual plan.
