(PLVN) - According to a representative of the Ministry of Education and Training, the 2025 high school graduation exam scores will include exam scores and high school students' academic scores at the 50/50 ratio, so the academic scores during the student's learning process play a very important role.

This information was given by Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Ha, Deputy Director of the Department of Education Quality Management (Ministry of Education and Training) at the 2025 Admissions and Career Counseling Festival.

Prof. Dr. Ha said that this year's graduation scores will include exam scores and high school students' academic scores at a ratio of 50/50 (last year it was 30%). Therefore, academic scores during the student's learning process play a very important role.

This year's graduation exam will closely follow the High School Education Program, which mainly covers the 12th grade program and content that continues from grades 10, 11 to 12. In particular, the exam will have differentiated questions requiring the connection to solving practical problems.

Therefore, Professor Nguyen Ngoc Ha noted that during the review process, students need to get used to reasoning and researching for any content that can be related to reality in order to meet the requirements of the exam.

Sharing about the new points in university admissions that are directly related to the rights of candidates, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Anh Dung, Deputy Director of the Department of Higher Education (Ministry of Education and Training) said: Candidates using the admission method with transcripts should note that this year's new regulation will use the learning results of the entire 12th grade year (instead of just taking the first semester score). Therefore, compliance with the learning requirements of the high school program is very important to increase the chances of university admission.

"Currently, in the high school education program, there are compulsory subjects and optional subjects depending on interests and career orientation. In addition to traditional admission combinations, training institutions can have new admission combinations. Candidates can choose an unlimited number of admission wishes, but must arrange them in order of priority from highest to lowest," Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Anh Dung clearly stated.

The general admission system of the Ministry of Education and Training will not distinguish between admission methods, therefore, the number of admission methods the system "scans" depends on the total number of methods of the training institution in the admission plan. Candidates do not need to register for admission by method, only need to register for the admission major; should focus on choosing the admission major that they are truly passionate about and suitable for their abilities.

Regarding the conversion of equivalent scores between admission methods, the Deputy Director of the Department of Higher Education said that this is a technical issue to ensure the rights of candidates. Developing a score conversion plan is the responsibility of training institutions and the Ministry of Education and Training. Candidates will receive public score conversion information before registering for admission.

Adjustments to make high school graduation exams and university admissions transparent and fair

According to Deputy Minister of Education and Training Hoang Minh Son, in 2025, the Ministry will continue to make adjustments so that the high school graduation exam and university entrance exam will take place more smoothly, transparently and fairly for candidates.

The 2025 high school graduation exam will follow the new general education program, with changes in the way the exam questions are designed to assess comprehensive abilities instead of just testing memorization. This approach not only helps to better classify candidates but also reduces heavy review pressure, helping students learn more proactively.

Regarding the admission regulations, the Ministry of Education and Training plans to issue them in the near future with some important adjustments. In particular, the application of technology in the admission process will help reduce procedures, limit errors and optimize candidates' wishes. The admission system will support students to register and arrange their wishes in the most convenient way, helping to reduce stress during the admission process.

"The changes in the admission regulations are mainly technical. Students only need to focus on studying well. The software system will provide maximum support so that students do not have to worry about technical factors in the admission process," Deputy Minister Hoang Minh Son affirmed.

In response to parents’ concerns about the early cancellation of admission, Deputy Minister Son said that organizing only one admission period would help reduce pressure and avoid the situation of having to submit applications to many different schools as before. Changing the admission process aims to ensure fairness and transparency, while reducing the burden on candidates and parents.
