Vung Ro Wharf is a historical site in the resistance war against the US to save the country. Here, the organization received more than 200 tons of weapons from the North to support the battlefield in the South.
From November 1964 to February 1965, Vung Ro wharf welcomed 4 unnumbered ships transporting more than 200 tons of weapons and goods from the Northern rear to support the Southern battlefield.
Of the four unnumbered ships that docked at Vung Ro, the fourth (ship 143) docked on the night of February 15, 1965 and was discovered by the enemy. To ensure the safety of the Ho Chi Minh Trail at sea, our army proactively used explosives to sink the ship in the Bai Chua area, preventing it from falling into enemy hands.
On June 18, 1997, Vung Ro Unnumbered Wharf was recognized as a National Historical Site.
