Foreign Trade University announces 2024 enrollment method

In 2024, Foreign Trade University (FTU) plans to enroll students in the Computer Science major, under the Computer Science and Data in Economics and Business program.

In its enrollment announcement on January 11, Foreign Trade University said that in addition to opening a Computer Science major, the school also began enrolling students in an International Business major under a dual degree program with the University of Queensland, Australia, in Hanoi.

The total expected target for both the headquarters and the two facilities in Ho Chi Minh City and Quang Ninh is 4,130, 30 higher than last year.

The six admission methods of Foreign Trade University are similar to 2023.

Accordingly, the school considers high school transcripts for three groups: participating in national science and technology competitions for excellent students; winning third prize or higher in city-level excellent student competitions; being students of specialized schools.

Methods 2 and 3 both use international language certificates, applicable to advanced, high-quality, career-oriented and internationally developed programs. Foreign Trade University considers admission by combining IELTS scores of 6.5 or higher (or equivalent) with SAT, ACT, A-Level scores or high school graduation exam scores.

The fourth method is for Foreign Trade University to consider high school graduation exam scores. Finally, the school considers the competency assessment scores of Hanoi National University (100/150 or higher) and Ho Chi Minh City National University (850/1,200 or higher). Both use the results of 2024, applicable to standard programs.

Finally, the school reserves the right to direct admission according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.

As for the International Political Economy program (international development orientation), Foreign Trade University will conduct separate admissions and accept applications from May 6. Each province or city can propose a maximum of 5 candidates with the condition of permanent residence in the locality for 18 months or more, and commitment to return to work after graduation.

Foreign Trade University has not announced the quota ratio for each admission method. The method of using high school graduation exam scores will follow the general time of the Ministry of Education and Training, the rest of the school will receive applications from May 20 to May 30.

At the time of registration, regardless of the method of registration, candidates do not need to submit evidence related to high school graduation exam scores. When admitted, candidates must provide additional evidence to be admitted.

In 2023, the benchmark score based on the high school graduation exam score of Foreign Trade University fluctuates from 26.2 to 28.5, the highest is Chinese Language, combination D01 (Literature, Math, English), the lowest is French Language.
