National Assembly deputies participating in the meeting with voters of Bac Tra My district included Mr. Ta Van Ha - Vice Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on Culture and Education and Ms. Dang Thi Bao Trinh - Vice President of the Provincial Women's Union.

Proposal not to reorganize Tra Bui commune

Speaking at the meeting, voters of Bac Tra My district expressed their support and high consensus with the policy of streamlining the organizational apparatus, rearranging administrative units at all levels and organizing two-level local government.

Voters recommend that when the Central Government directs the merger of communes and the dissolution of district levels, it is necessary to study the characteristics of mountainous areas, particularly difficult areas, and the cultural identities of ethnic groups at the commune level for implementation. At the same time, there should be early information for local officials and civil servants to grasp, stabilize, and prepare when the merger decision is made.

Voter Pham Xuan Trieu - Chairman of Tra Bui Commune People's Committee stated: Tra Bui is a remote and extremely disadvantaged commune of Bac Tra My district. The commune has a large area of 179km2 , 6,800 people, with 90% of the Ca Dong ethnic group, the poverty rate is 49%.

Agreeing with the policy of the superiors on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units, with the orientation of reducing 60-70% of the current number of communes, people are also concerned and worried that the commune area is already large and densely populated, if the arrangement policy is implemented with another commune, it will be too large and the population too dense.

Therefore, voters recommend that the Central Government consider and calculate the policy of not implementing administrative unit arrangement for some communes with special characteristics, including Tra Bui commune.

There is a free mechanism for document adjustment.

Voter Trinh Quoc Linh - Chairman of Tra Dong Commune People's Committee also proposed to consider the specificity, on that basis, research the policy of merging a few communes in the mountainous area together. Because compared to the plains, the transportation of the mountainous communes is not convenient, there are many ethnic groups with different cultures and customs.

Mr. Linh also recommended that the Central Government pay attention to policies to support non-professional workers, because many people who have paid insurance for 20 years or more now have to quit their jobs to implement the policy of merging commune-level administrative units. The Central Government also needs to have a free mechanism for adjusting documents when adjusting administrative boundaries.

Representatives of the Department of Home Affairs, Quang Nam Electricity Company, and leaders of the People's Committee of Bac Tra My district discussed and answered questions raised by voters at the meeting.

Delegate Ta Van Ha informed about issues of concern to local voters related to the implementation of the policy of streamlining the organizational apparatus and reorganizing administrative units at all levels in the current period. At the same time, he said that the Provincial National Assembly Delegation would accept the enthusiastic and responsible opinions of voters to send to the National Assembly forum and competent agencies for consideration, resolution and response according to regulations.
