This activity is within the framework of the visit and work of the Hanoi City Delegation in Argentina and Chile.

Attending the conference were Vietnamese Ambassador to Argentina Ngo Minh Nguyet; Mr. Rodolfo Caffaro Kramer - President of Mercosur - Asean Chamber of Commerce (MACC); representatives of the Council, Buenos Aires City government and Vietnamese and Argentine organizations and businesses.

Speaking at the opening of the conference, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan affirmed that Vietnam continues to be considered a safe, attractive and potential destination; a favorable investment environment for foreign enterprises and investors. The implementation of promotional activities, advertising, and approaching partners in foreign markets, especially major markets and partners of Vietnam in general and Hanoi in particular, aims to make good use of opportunities in the context of supply chains and investment shifting trends, as well as opportunities and advantages from FTAs ​​that Vietnam participates in. Thereby, promoting the investment, business and tourism environment of Hanoi, promoting promotion activities, promoting cooperation and economic development, especially promoting tourism, promoting cooperation to attract investment, and exporting and importing goods with the market and partners of Argentina in particular and the South American region in general.

Emphasizing that Hanoi is the capital, the national political and administrative center, a special urban area, and at the same time one of the two largest centers in the country in terms of economy, culture, education - training, science - technology and international integration, especially the recent National Assembly's approval of the amended Law on the Capital, which is an important legal basis and opportunity for the capital to develop to its full potential, Chairman of the City People's Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan expressed his hope that the promotion conference will promote the friendly and cooperative relations between the capital Hanoi and the capital and localities of Argentina; contributing to strengthening the bilateral relationship and good traditions between the two countries. At the same time, the conference is also an opportunity to promote the good image, safe and effective investment environment of Hanoi to promote connectivity, investment promotion, trade, tourism to partners, investors and businesses of Argentina.

The Chairman of the Hanoi People's Council affirmed that the Hanoi government always attaches importance to, accompanies and is ready to create the best conditions for businesses to be interested in, invest and do business effectively in Hanoi - the "City for Peace" and "Creative City".

Speaking at the conference, Vietnamese Ambassador to Argentina Ngo Minh Nguyet thanked and congratulated Hanoi for successfully organizing the Conference "Promoting Investment, Trade and Tourism between Hanoi and Argentina 2024". This is a very practical and large-scale conference, with nearly 70 Vietnamese and Argentinean enterprises participating.

The Ambassador highly appreciated the potential for cooperation between the two countries. In the period 2004 - 2023, Vietnam - Argentina trade increased nearly 17 times, from 204 million USD to 3.45 billion USD. Vietnam is currently the 6th largest trading partner and the 5th largest export market of Argentina in the world, while Argentina is the 3rd largest trading partner of Vietnam in Latin America. Hanoi has a thousand years of history and culture, is an attractive destination for international tourists, and the people of Hanoi are friendly and hospitable. Hanoi is also developing strongly, with a favorable investment environment, and will be a safe and effective investment destination for Argentine businesses.

At the conference, the delegation witnessed the signing of Memorandum of Understanding and cooperation agreements between organizations and businesses between the two capitals.
