Minister Do Duc Duy and his delegation inspected the landslide at Km 2, Dien Bien Street, in Residential Group 2, Yen Ninh Ward. This is an area that is currently suffering quite heavy damage due to landslides with dozens of houses completely collapsed and positive slopes collapsing. As of the afternoon of September 11, this area is still at risk of further landslides.

During the inspection, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Do Duc Duy requested the city leaders to mobilize human resources, machinery, and vehicles to organize the evacuation of households in areas at risk of landslides to safe places. He requested that businesses with excavators coordinate with the city government to handle landslides to ensure the safety of the people.

Minister Do Duc Duy also asked people in this area to proactively evacuate, prioritize protecting their lives, support families in distress, and those whose houses have collapsed or had to be relocated, while sharing with the authorities to focus on providing relief to areas in urgent need first.

Inspecting the landslide and house collapse situation at Group 10 and Kim Dong Street in Minh Tan Ward, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Do Duc Duy requested the city to ensure safety for people, clean up areas where water recedes, and suggest increasing the capacity of the water plant to have water for people to clean up their houses.

In Hong Ha ward and Tuy Loc commune, through the situation, it was shown that the Red River water had receded. He requested the police and military forces to concentrate their forces to support people in cleaning up with the spirit of cleaning up as the water receded. If necessary, mobilize militia and self-defense forces from other districts to support. In particular, in isolated areas, small boats from other places should be mobilized to support people with food, water, and supplies in a timely manner.

Reporting at the meeting with the Minister, the leader of Yen Bai city said that they had mobilized about 1,000 military and police forces to help people overcome the consequences. The city also hoped that the province would provide maximum support in terms of forces and means, and support in ensuring communication to serve the direction and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters.

Comrade Tran Huy Tuan - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said that the risk of landslides still exists, the city needs to focus on assessing the level of landslides before bringing people back home safely. Along with that, the city needs to focus on cleaning up as the water recedes; coordinate with the health sector to carry out disinfection spraying, ensuring environmental sanitation; focus on directing and guiding people to restore agricultural production and livestock farming. The city also needs to pay attention to damage statistics and provide timely support to people.

Concluding the meeting, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Do Duc Duy highly appreciated the Party Committee, government and people of the city for their efforts to overcome the consequences of storm No. 3. The Minister commented that in the coming days, the volume of overcoming the consequences of natural disasters will be very large, the city needs to focus on rescue work, immediately move people from dangerous places to safe places and not allow people who have been moved from dangerous places to return when safety is not guaranteed; take care of the funeral of the deceased, focus on treating the injured and pay attention to supporting the families of the victims.

At the same time, reasonably coordinate support and aid resources; restore and ensure essential services including electricity, water and communication; clean up landslides, environmental sanitation, and disease prevention, especially in public places such as schools and medical stations. Take care of people's health; restore infrastructure systems such as drainage systems and agency headquarters; handle landslides to ensure safety; count damage and support the restoration of agricultural production, flexibly convert the structure of suitable crop varieties.

He said he would direct the province to have a plan to arrange appropriate forces and resources for the city and affected localities.
