The National Week for Clean Water and Environmental Sanitation was launched by the Prime Minister in 1998 and has become an important annual activity, contributing to changing the quality and living conditions of rural people through improving water supply and environmental sanitation conditions.

In 2025, the National Week of Clean Water and Environmental Sanitation launched by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment will take place from April 29 to May 6, 2025 and is encouraged to extend to World Environment Day (June 5).

Actively responding to this activity, the Ministry of Science and Technology has directed the synchronous implementation of propaganda activities on the Ministry's media, focusing on the messages: Using water economically, protecting water resources, environmental sanitation, improving public health and promoting the completion of clean water criteria in the National Target Program on New Rural Development for the period 2021-2025. At the same time, encourage affiliated units to hang banners, posters, distribute propaganda materials and widely share initiatives and technological solutions for water treatment, environmental protection and climate change response.
