BIDV wins the "Outstanding Digital Transformation Unit" award at ASOCIO 2023.

Each year, ASOCIO evaluates over 10,000 applications from 24 member associations to select individuals, organizations, and businesses with outstanding achievements contributing to overall development and the application of information technology. In 2023, ASOCIO awarded eight categories of prizes to 52 entities from various countries and territories. BIDV was the only representative from Vietnam to receive the Outstanding Digital Transformation Unit award, alongside other countries such as South Korea, Thailand, and Singapore.

As the oldest commercial bank in Vietnam, BIDV currently identifies digital transformation as one of its three development pillars for the 2022-2025 period, with a vision to become "the leading financial institution in Southeast Asia with the best digital platform in Vietnam" by 2030. From 2022 to the present, BIDV has achieved many outstanding accomplishments in the field of digital transformation; especially the launch of digital products designed specifically for different customers such as: BIDV Private Banking, the new generation BIDV SmartBanking, BIDV iBank, BIDV Smart Kids...

As of September 30, 2023, the number of BIDV's digital channel customers reached nearly 12.5 million individual customers (accounting for nearly 70% of the individual customer base, an increase of 3.5 million customers compared to the same period in 2022), and 132,299 institutional customers (accounting for over 50% of the institutional customer base, an increase of over 29,000 customers compared to the same period in 2022). The number of financial transactions by individual customers on digital channels reached nearly 90%.

BIDV's digital transformation achievements have been highly appreciated by domestic and international organizations: the State Bank of Vietnam awarded BIDV a Certificate of Merit in 2023 for outstanding digital transformation results; VINASA awarded the Sao Khue Award to nearly 40 digital products and solutions from 2011 to the present; IDG Magazine awarded BIDV the Outstanding Digital Bank award in 2020 and 2021… Notably, the award from ASOCIO in 2023 further affirms BIDV's position as one of the pioneering banks in the field of digital transformation in Vietnam, contributing to establishing its brand on the international stage.

ASOCIO was founded in 1984 in Tokyo, Japan. The organization currently comprises 24 associations, representing over 10,000 multinational corporations. The ASOCIO Award has been presented annually since 2003. The judging panel consists of 15 members who are reputable information technology experts from countries in the region.

In 2023, the ASOCIO awards were presented in eight categories: Outstanding Technology Company; Digital Transformation; Digital Government; Educational Technology; Healthcare Technology; Cybersecurity; Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG); and Startups.
