The Democratic National Committee issued the statement as Vice President Harris debuted with Governor Walz after she chose him as her running mate for the November US presidential election.
Harris announced the nomination at a campaign rally, emphasizing: "Today, I stand before you to proudly announce that I am now officially the Democratic Party's nominee for President of the United States," according to ABC News.
This is the first time Harris has brought her running mate to campaign in a battleground state.
Hours after being announced as the Democratic Party's vice presidential nominee, Walz took the stage with Vice President Harris in Pennsylvania, expressing his intention to vigorously pursue the lawsuit against former U.S. President Donald Trump.
"Donald Trump, he sees the world differently. He doesn't know the first thing about serving because he's too busy serving himself," Walz told a cheering crowd of about 10,000 supporters in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, according to AFP.
Walz accused Trump of deliberately undermining the American economy for his own purposes, mocking law and order, and sowing "chaos and division."

US Vice President and Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris, along with her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, speak at the Liacouras Center of Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on August 6.
With less than three months until the presidential election, many Americans don't know much about Walz, and he has given voters a glimpse into his personal story, describing his military service, his experience as a public school teacher, and his political record, according to AFP.
In their first joint appearance during the campaign, Harris and Walz demonstrated how they could appeal to voters, one a former African-American senator from California and the other a former white congressman from a working-class region of America.
Ms. Harris (60 years old) described Mr. Walz (60 years old) as "a leader who will help unite the country and move us forward, a fighter for the middle class, a patriot who believes in the extraordinary promise of America, just like me."
As a former California attorney general, Harris sought to create a contrast between her past as a prosecutor and Trump's criminal record, which includes 34 felony convictions.
However, Harris told the crowd: "This campaign—our campaign—is not just a fight against Donald Trump. Our campaign...is a fight for the future," Harris declared.
Trump and his running mate, JD Vance, quickly criticized the new running mate as too liberal. "This is the most radical left-wing pair in American history," Trump wrote on social media, according to Reuters.
