At 4 p.m., Mrs. Nguyet, with her hunched back, walked slowly into alley 418/8 Tran Phu (District 5, Ho Chi Minh City) to start her job of selling dumplings and crab soup that she has been doing for more than 20 years. Even though she no longer has her sister by her side.
"You're gone, I'm empty…"
The cute words on the small dumpling cart: "Hoa Nguyet sisters" remind me of 2 years ago, when I first stopped by to support this dumpling cart. I really loved the image of old Nguyet standing there selling to customers, sometimes falling asleep. From now on, I often stop by to eat and support her.

"Hoa Nguyet Sisters" dumpling cart now only has Ms. Nguyet, customers often come to support.
At that time, she confided that her sister, Mrs. Hoa, was not in good health and often suffered from severe back pain, so gradually only Mrs. Nguyet was left to try to stand and sell to earn a few coins to get by. In their old age, the two sisters depended on each other to live a simple life, yet they were happy.
A few months ago, Mrs. Hoa passed away at the age of 86, leaving her sister alone beside the dumpling cart. Confiding in us, Mrs. Nguyet said that although she knew that no one could overcome time, her sister’s passing was still a sadness that was hard to forget, leaving an irreplaceable void in her heart.
Living alone without children to rely on, Mrs. Nguyet still has to continue to earn a living every day with her dumpling cart. It is also a memory, a career of her sisters for more than 2 decades that the old lady said she will sell until she no longer has the strength.

At the age of 80, Mrs. Nguyet is still working hard.

The image of an old lady going to her familiar place every afternoon makes many customers feel loved.

Since the day Hoa passed away, the image of Nguyet selling dumplings alone has been shared by many people on social networks. Netizens called each other to support her so that she could earn some money. The dumpling cart, which was previously well-known by many people, is now even more loved by many young people.
"It is the support of our customers that has allowed us to do business for decades. There are customers who have been eating here since we first opened. I thank both regular and new customers for always supporting us and hope to continue to receive support in the future," she smiled brightly and kindly.
Old age but not old spirit
Mr. Minh Hoang (27 years old, living in District 5) said he learned about Hoa and Nguyet's dumpling cart more than 3 years ago, after accidentally watching an introductory clip on social media. Since the first time he ate there, out of pity for the two elderly ladies who have to make a living and because the dumplings are delicious and tasty, he often stops by to eat.
"She makes delicious dumplings! Since I heard about Hoa's death, I love Nguyet even more and come to eat there more often. I'm happy that many young people are sharing her restaurant on social media, and everyone in Saigon is supporting her restaurant," the customer shared.

Each dumpling portion is affordable but of good quality.
Thao Nhan (22 years old, living in District 5) said that she sometimes stops by this dumpling cart to eat because it is close to her house. In addition, her younger sister also likes to eat so she often buys more to take home. Here, each portion of dumpling ranges from 25,000 VND - 40,000 VND, depending on her needs, which is a reasonable price for her.
Recently, because she felt sorry for Mrs. Nguyet who was doing wholesale alone without Mrs. Hoa around, a niece came to help. Every day, she went from District 12 to help Mrs. Hoa prepare in time for the afternoon sale.
Ms. Hoa's restaurant often goes "viral" in culinary groups on social networks, receiving great affection from diners in Ho Chi Minh City because of the touching story behind it.
However, if it weren't for the quality of the dumplings, it would be difficult to have received such support over the years. Mrs. Nguyet also agreed with us, saying that she also has her own way of making dumplings, creating a flavor that "wins over" diners near and far.

Ms. Nguyet has been attached to the dumpling cart for more than 20 years in Cho Lon, Ho Chi Minh City.
Every day, Mrs. Nguyet still works tirelessly at her dumpling cart from afternoon to late night, carrying with her many memories of her late sister. The support of customers for this dumpling cart is the joy of this old lady in her old age…
