Besides the shops that have to return their premises and close at the end of the year, making many regular customers regretful, many other shops in Ho Chi Minh City are opening and having grand openings at this time.
Find a suitable location
Recently, Ms. Bui Cam Giang excitedly opened the N'Rona buffet restaurant located in a large shopping mall on Ta Quang Buu Street (District 8). A few months ago, she also opened her first restaurant in another shopping mall located on Pham Van Dong Street (Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City).

Having been in the seafood business for nearly 10 years at Binh Dien wholesale market (District 8), the owner has long cherished the idea of opening her own seafood restaurant and now, that plan has come true. "I opened the restaurant at this time mainly because I finally found a satisfactory location. I also carefully selected different locations and decided to choose 2 places with good locations to open the restaurant, even though the price is a bit high," she added.
Having just opened the restaurant, Ms. Giang's biggest difficulty is not having a stable number of regular customers. In addition, the food business situation at the end of the year is somewhat slower than normal according to the general situation.
To attract more customers, the restaurant often offers promotions such as discounts, free drinks, and free seafood for customers who come to eat at the end of the year. She said that the restaurant currently serves more than 100 seafood dishes as well as many types of fresh seafood such as crab, mantis shrimp, oysters, sea urchins, etc. for customers to choose from.
The owner opened the shop at this time because she chose a suitable location.
Buffet tickets here cost from 408,000 - 468,000 VND depending on the time of year. Opening a restaurant at the end of the year is not easy, the owner said the restaurant will try every day to serve customers better in the future.
Mr. Khanh Duy (28 years old, residing in District 8) said he lives in an apartment building near this buffet restaurant. Recently, through social networks, he learned about the restaurant and planned to stop by to eat with his family.
"At the end of the year, I saw many new restaurants opening up. There is also a new noodle shop under my apartment building. From cheap restaurants to restaurants, everything is bustling with openings. I plan to try out the restaurants near my house when I'm less busy. If I like a restaurant, I'll stick with it for a long time so I don't have to go far," he said.
Hope for good business
Not long ago, a "brand new" restaurant on Pasteur Street (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City) specializing in selling traditional Vietnamese dishes such as spring rolls, pork skin rolls, banh mi with pork skin, chicken curry, vermicelli with pork skin rolls, banh xeo... was just opened by the owner.
This has been her and her family's wish for a long time, but only now has it been possible to make it a reality when her husband found a very satisfactory location. "The location here is really beautiful, so as soon as we found out about it, our family did not hesitate to decide to rent it to open a shop. The journey to open the shop only took a few weeks, full of improvisation," she said.
Ms. Nhung's family restaurant recently opened.
